I had a Z4 Roadster a few years ago and found it really got under my skin. Back then, I didn't think I'd ever be able to afford the Coupe but these cars have since come down a fair bit in price.

It took me a little while to find the right example, some of these are really in quite a state by now. I was thrilled to find a car with under 60,000 miles and full BMW history, less thrilled by the 750+ mile round journey to get it though!

I love the looks, the grunt and sound of the N52 motor — plus the way it really comes alive above 4k rpm. It's also fun to be seated over the rear axle again. It couldn't be much different from the 2016 Fiesta ST it has replaced.

Compared to the 3.0i Roadster this feels generally tighter to drive and the ride (non RFT tyres used on both) is vastly better in the coupe. It also has some genuinely useful space in the back, though the cabin is somewhat claustrophobic in comparison to the Roadster. The Getrag manual box hates a delicate touch but makes a lot of sense when pressing on. You won't find anyone praising these cars for steering feel, but the front end is direct and the rack relatively short.

Since purchasing the car I've had its water pump changed as a bit of preventative maintenance. The wheels definitely aren't my favourite and I expect they'll be swapped when the Uniroyals get low. Other than that, I plan to keep it pretty much exactly as it is and just enjoy it. Oh, and clean it lots too, I forgot how difficult it can be to keep a black car clean wobble

Just a couple of pics for now I'm afraid.

Great cars, but then I'm on my 2nd so may be a bit biased!

135s (aka MV2s) are a pain to clean, but then the optional 108s have issues too when the bolts for the split-rims start to cause corrosion that lifts the lacquer.

I don't think the cabin is that claustrophobic, but then both of mine have had Pearl Grey seats because I wanted some contrast!

Lovely stuff, particularly like that blue and grey combo! I did run CSL reps on my old Z4, wish I'd have kept hold of them as they'd finish this Coupe off perfectly imo.

I really do like these and would love for the wife to get one

Alas, my fat arse can't fit in the damned things; so that's that ruined laugh
