Both are lovely machines for travelling around Europe in but I don't know if the A4 allroad is worth the extra outlay...

There is a plentiful supply of 2 year old 335d for around the £22k-£25k mark... The new Allroad 272 is around the £35k mark. I prefer the Audi in every way but can't help but think that over £10k more for the same capabilities seems very excessive.

Any opinions??!

335d. But then I would say that. If you're looking for a 3yr old used F31, with a shedload of rather lovely options, do let me know!

Get the 335 - The A4 isn't 10k more useful in my view and I'd look at it as 10k less depreciation coming your way.

The Allroad, is it the BiTurbo diesel?
Not in the A4 as far as I'm aware. Still- 272 PS is nice!

335d for me, haven't driven either but of all the Audi's I've driven I'd put money on the BMW to be the better steer, can't stand the numb Audi steering.

Most complain the 335d xdrive is a bit disconnected overall (there is no single RWD version of the 335 F30/31).

Hmm, the 335D will have more poke. I would put money on ensuring the EGR more precisely the EGR Cooler is kept in check, as they can and do fail (including mine) and watch the timing chains on the rear of the N57.

I could not comment on the A4 as I do not know enough, but I personally have rarely enjoyed an Audi in general.

The PH brigade will advise you to get the 335D, preferably with a map.

I can't say that I blame them.

Agreed, I went mad when I ordered mine and I think the only things I done haven't are TV, internet hotspot and ind leather dash. There's probably something else but can't have been terribly important!

Two different cars really - one is a sports saloon and the other a comfy cruiser.

What do you want?

A 335d isn't a sports saloon, it's a diesel saloon...

I bought a 335d touring after trying the a4 and a6.

All lovely cars.

The 335d egr valve broke and gave me a £2500 bill from a BMW dealer. 90,000 miles on the clock.

I wish I'd a) bought any other car b) bought a 335d with a warranty.

The car is still ace, but I find myself waiting to the next bill...

If you're still looking, let me know. I'm likely to let mine go in the next six weeks or so and it's optioned up to the eyeballs.

Bought one 3 days back from BMW.

Only option is heated seats and heated steering wheel but I'm happy!
