When a pic is quoted

Why not convert the pic into a thumb.

Just an idea.

I'm fairly sure that a couple of years ago, when you quoted a pic on here, it did default to a thumb version.

I assume the fact it no longer works, means that this is one of the many issues that exist on here, all since the various "improvements" the last few years, that aren't ever likely to be fixed.

Correct it was lost in the standardisation of forum formats (skins)

But you can edit the "pic" or "img" tags and replace it with "thumb" is you want to reduce the impact of a quoted picture

There's very little that I find irritating but it does niggle me when someone posts a stload of pictures, and then following posters quote the whole lot just to add a single line comment of their own at the bottom. It didn't matter when the pictures quoted were small ones.

I sometimes do, I'm very much in the minority, as singlecoil says, the problem is all the following on people quoting the pics that is why an auto conversion is justified, or even auto removal.

Yep - however all development and improvements to PH Forum are on hold - only things that will get done are "fixes" if its horribly broken
