Doesn't seem to be many caravan users on here. Anyway here's mine off for a weekend.

Off to a place called Foresterseat Park near Forfar, about 60 miles north of me. Quite often visit if it's just a weekend.

There are a few of us on here, I guess for some its just not a very PH thing, whereas Motorhomes are more so i guess.

I do beg to differ with those that think that! For me cars are a passion and having the caravan means I get to see more places and go to more motorsport.

Here is one of me setting off for LM...

Had a caravan before we had the campervan, sadly you can't tow a car trailer and a caravan at the same time so it had to go.

We may go back to one in a few years or a more spacious motorhome rather than a camper, depends on how long I continue driving round in circles for a hobby hehe

I've got a Coachman Pastiche too! A 2008 520/4, purchased at the start of this year.

Loving it so far, had the Easter weekend meeting up with the family in Suffolk, part of the Whitsun half term on the Forest of Dean, a week in the New Forest in July, a week on the Gower (Wales) in August & we're off to the Peak District for autumn half term.

Finally the wife and I are going to have a romantic weekend away in it for our wedding anniversary at the end of November without the kids! Her idea! laugh

Might even end up taking it down to my Mum's at Christmas, staying at her place is always a bit traumatic.

Seems to have paid its way this year.

We are new to caravaning, bought an old van to see if we liked it before investing heavily.

We love it, and we love the van. So much so we have spent a bit to make it a bit more modern and probably wont upgrade!

Weve got a 1998 lunar delta something, single axle, 5 birth.

We have a 2010 Lunar Quasar bought last year, so we've done 2 summer holidays and a few weekend breaks here and there. We'll be taking it to the south coast in the October half term. We have a Kodiaq on order to replace the merc, but that won't come until after Christmas I don't think. We have 3 little sons and the caravan suits us well because it has a triple bunk bed at the back. They seemed to stop making them with triple bunks around that time so this was as new as we could go. We probably won't change it until they get too big for the bunks.

smile I need a 4x4 for mine too. First trip away got stuck in the mud laugh Caravan, RWD, ~280bhp, and muddy fields don't mix it seems.

I don't wan't to be restricted to booking sites with hard standing in the long term. Only problem is due to having a stupidly heavy van (1575kg) I need a stupidly heavy car which rules out all but the bigger / expensive end of the 4x4 market. Oh well. Haven't decided on anything yet.

If we're coming out, here's ours:

Bought mainly for dogging ermm agility competitions. We did go away to a CL site over New Year when it was snowing hence the photo. Never thought i'd be a caravanner, as consider myself a bit of a petrolhead, liking my cars and bikes. But it has been used 61 nights so far this year I think and for what we use it for its great. We're lucky that we can store at home and can load/pack weekday evenings and then just hook up after work and be all set up usually within a few hours. So far the dog van Vito has towed it in pretty much every condition from snow through to almost gale force winds and it hasn't missed a beat despite being the lowliest of low 108CDI. Just don't show it a grass field with dew on or expect to get up any hills quickly......

I've been busy installing a solar panel on the roof. Will get a chance to see how it does this weekend.

Here’s mine. Bought it in June as we’ve a new baby and figured a caravan would be easier than a hotel or cottage.
Haven’t been caravanning since I went with my parents in the early 90’s but it worked out pretty well.
Caravan is a bit older than most here, 10 years or so but it seems ok. The kid will probably wreck it anyway smile.
The old Merc tows it pretty well, and is heavy so the whole thing is stable.
Going away for a couple of weeks next weekend actually, although haven’t decided where yet!

It may be just co-incidence, but there seems to be an awful lot of Mercedes used for towing. laugh

I do 400 miles a week in the car usually, this is the oldest I’ve had for a while. Probably should have bought something newer and cheaper to run. Really like driving it though, it’s probably the best car I’ve had in that respect.
