It does look great on track, but I bet 70 of the 77 made never see a track :-( When I last visited the Porsche Museum, the arse-ends of the 935's were a major attraction. (Yes, I realise that sounds very 'wrong' but it's true.)

The point is that Mansory wouldn't make anything look like that, this 935 looks stunning IMHO whereas everything I've seen with a Mansory badge has been gopping tat.
the gt2rs wp looks like a Mansory car, as does the f12 tdf and aventador sjvalso Mansory might look tatty in your opinion but the quality and finish is great. actually some race teams/car manufacturers use them for carbon fiber stuff
Just released....
‘Porsche wish to apologise to motoring fans. We are sorry for making one of our top end 991 models even more extreme with totally custom bodywork and an extensive engineering overhaul to make it a very track capable car. We thought it was also a fun project to mimic one of our legendary race cars at the same time.
We thought the project would be a nice surprise, viewed as interesting and something a bit different.
Clearly we know nothing and mote the expert advice on the forums.
To make sure these motoring fans are happy, we’re bringing back the mk1 cayenne and Diesel engines and this is all we will produce.
We give in, what’s the point!’

You're missing the point - I can't speak for all those who are not impressed with this car but from a personal perspective, I love the idea of the car - just not the execution.‘Porsche wish to apologise to motoring fans. Admittedly we don't know all the details yet but it comes across as half-baked.
It's big, heavy with no extra power. Too close to the donor car.
It smacks of expediency (whilst charging a hefty premium).
Why is it not lighter? Couldn't be bothered/too expensive?
Why not road legal? Couldn't be bothered/too expensive?
Why not race legal? Couldn't be bothered/too expensive?
Doesn't matter we'll sell them anyway - people love a bit of heritage...
We'll just call it a 'tribute'.
We know Porsche can do amazing things when they put their mind to it - this doesn't look like one of those things.
For £750k I would expect a bit more - especially when the standard GT2 RS is so damn good.
As a previous poster said - it looks like a GT2RS in a fat suit.
Moby Dick deserves better than this.

Those thinking it looks a bit dumpy would do well to remember that the car probably comes with round wheels and will be about six inches longer than it appears in Pistonheads’ squashed images.
Actually - you do make a good point.
I’ll reserve final judgement on the aesthetics in until I see one in the flesh.

Oh well never mind. I can go elsewhere for decent pictures anyway

Why is it not lighter? Couldn't be bothered/too expensive? Why does it need to be lighter - have you driven the GT2 RS and can comment? A GT3-spec 911 isn't all that lighter and will use a significantly lighter powertrain
Why not road legal? Couldn't be bothered/too expensive? It's a track car! Why leave performance on the table (like not using slicks) to make it road legal?
Why not race legal? Couldn't be bothered/too expensive? It would need to be homologated for GT3 racing and then you'd be complaining it is not powerful enough - to facilitate GT3-eligibility it would need to drop to around 550BHP (GTE-spec is around 500BHP), and Porsche already has a 911 GT3 R and a GTE-spec 911 RSR

Once you’ve seen it, it can’t be unseen. Every article is the same, and completely skews the proportions of the cars. I am acutely aware that this is a free resource and I hate to complain, but really it’s just constructive criticism. I can’t immediately think of another subject besides cars where it’s quite so critical that the aspect ratio of images is maintained. Nearly every car I see on here is too short and too narrow, and has oval wheels and/or steering wheels.
Oh well never mind. I can go elsewhere for decent pictures anyway

Having now watched the vid, I have concluded that the back end looks a bit like the backend of a wood louse.
I get the Senna but am not convinced by the looks, I get the AM Vulcan and the various track only Ferrari’s, but I am struggling to get this.
Is it basically a GT3 RS in a retro suit or does it bring an enhanced level of performance? If it does then I start to get it, but still don’t like the suit.

This place?I imagine you’re rolling your eyes and tutting before getting back to your Daily Mail.
There really is no need for the Alan Partridge attitude.
You make a valid point re power capping for GT3 homologation but why would you not want the car lighter?
As you say - why leave performance on the table?
Nearly 1400kg is heavy for a £750k track only car isn’t it?
Track only remember- that’s it’s sole purpose.
A carte blanche - freed from all regulations.
So why not really go for it?
At nearly 1400kg it doesn’t feel like they’ve gone for it.
We know Porsche build brilliant racing cars - but this isn’t one of them.
If it’s based on the excellent GT2 RS i’m sure it’ll drive very well but it feels like an opportunity missed.
Now, you may well disagree but that is just another opinion.
