I have a Phase 1 GTV TS in the same Proteo red colour as the shed. I have owned the car for seven years now. I have too many cars and every year I decide to sell it, but every time I get it ready to sell I take it for a drive and change my mind. I even had a friend agree to pay what I was looking for but hesitated and he went and bought another one.

Few cars can seduce you like a GTV. I have had V6 Alfas (164s) but find the TS engine suits the car better and it never fails to put a smile on my face.

I go against the grain in preferring the seats (lower and more comfortable imo) the black dash and the wheels to the phase 2 and 3. The sticky rubber is a downside and mine will be revamped soon. The headlining which I wore like a sombrero as it came away has been replaced by the more practical phase 2 headlining though.

History tells you that the original is almost always the most desirable as time goes by and I reckon this will be the case with the GTV

I have now accepted that other cars will have to go before the GTV. The shed looks like a bargain but I am not a fan of most of the mods. I actually have a twin pipe Ragazzon exhaust on mine though but the one with the two pipes beside each other rather than on both sides. I do like the exhaust in the shed though.

Great car! I have been running a 2.0TS 147 as a runaround for 2.5 years and it has been great.

I did get the belts done but it has been perfectly reliable and really good fun to drive. It is an agile little thing and despite its lowly value, a fun driver's car.
Damn right it is: just keep investing and all will be fine.

Holy thread resurrection!! You realise you're responding to a quote from 4 years ago. I don't think he has the Alfa anymore and doesn't go by the name of Sideways Sirofl

Having said that, a good reminder that these 916 Alfas are still ridiculously cheap for what they. Bit like the Audi TT and MGF, a late 90s modern classic that just hasn't seen an appreciable price rise. Was looking at one the other day on marketplace, £1300 with long MOT and seemingly not a lot wrong with it, based on the MOT history.....

Just seen this. I am smiling at the resident Alfitsi nerding out. I've enjoyed their Readers' Rides threads and images.

Spinakker got a good deal on his Nuvola TS I think.
