RE: Bollinger B1 electric SUV due in 2019

Personally I like the styling cues but that is the thing about styling it isnt designed for everyone. It is that simple really and everyone is entitled to not like it.
I really do think that EV is becoming a major player in the market place too. Long gone, thanks to Tesla, are the days where you would buy a vehicle that is both slow and has a range of around 50 miles despite what the dealer will have you believe.
However Im not sure that EV has a place in the capable 4x4 world. I imagine that this will sadly follow the path of many an SUV these days and just clog up the roads with Yummy Mummies driving their children to and from School, which as an urban vehicle it will work perfectly well. However miles from anywhere if you run out of charge it isnt like you can carry a jerry can of electricity with you, nor can you rock up in the middle of nowhere and fill up, well not unless they have a fast charger as a normal 3 pin plug takes a good overnight session to even make a dent in topping up the batteries.

Oh gosh the range anxiety thing again, sigh.
Was that aimed at my post?If so did you actually read the post? I wasnt suggesting range anxiety. Range Anxiety is about whether you will make it to the end of your journey on the open road. There are plenty of charging stations now and so as long as you actually break the journey up and use the fast chargers that are available on the majority of routes then there is absolutely no reason. With most Tesla's achieving 300 miles then there really isnt any need to get sniffy about the range. But would you rely on a Twizzy for your everyday car? That has a max range of approx 30 miles?
Even so, it is one thing being on road where chargers are a plenty another going off road where the terrain is somewhat unknown and therefore the battery consumption could drop dramatically. And as I mentioned it isnt like you could grab a jerry can and wander off until you find someone with a supply of fuel.

Interview with CEO Robert Bollinger:

Bollinger's interest in crafting a BEV pickup truck that is utterly devoted to off-road duty would seem to be an attractive niche --- as General Motors now intends to go in that direction with...
a new Hummer.

A television commercial will air during the Super Bowl, apparently (2nd February).
This will be a sub-brand of the GMC truck portfolio, and not a rebirth of Hummer as it was in the past (a distinct division of General Motors). Given how GM takes products to market, we can expect the price of this Hummer thing to be more affordable than the craft endeavour of Bollinger.
