You’re absolute bks spouting on BMW commitment to EV, the fact that the Model 3 isn’t released globally, your total made up bs about everything EV?
I'm happy for you to point out inaccuracies in what I post.A top BMW exec thinks battery cars will always be more expensive, BMW getting slaughters for sales in USA, Tesla outselling Mercedes, Mercedes going full electric by 2022..
I never said the model 3 was selling everywhere yet, where it is its kicking ass.
Your a relic like this new 3 series.
...and BMW's US sales are up 3% YTD compared to last year. Not sure where 'getting slaughtered' is coming from? (or slaughters [sic])
Tesla is groundbreaking, I've been a massive fan for years, and as said before, they are the most transformative manufacturer we've seen in the automotive sector (even they they don't consider themselves to be an automotive manufacturer), but their success doesn't automatically translate to making every other non-EV a relic.
It will be a long time until the majority of car drivers will opt for an EV ahead of a premium/German small ICE/PHEV saloon. Tesla have gambled on only focusing on the early adopters. After years of problems and cash-burn, that gamble is just starting to be worth it, but only this year, and they are a long long way from being a stable and viable business.
My interest in getting a Tesla 18 months ago was still largely fuelled by financial drivers. When I change car in another 2 years, maybe the game will have moved on (and having scratched the itch of a 500bhp sports saloon I'll have different objectives)....but if I was a gambling man, I'd say I'll still be in an ICE next time, maybe hybrid.
Now if I was choosing Mrs Ares' car, an EV would be a lot higher on the agenda.
....and finally, I agree with the BMW Exec..... Full EVs will be more expensive like-for-like to buy. Maybe not forever, but for a long time. Total ownership is a different matter, but that depends predominantly on taxation policies.

You probably win the award for the most tangental response of the thread, but you're still makes your original comment wrong/disingenuous/trolling/ignorant/or similar.
Oh dear. Sort out your spelling and grammar, and resubmit please.
Soz for my late reply sweets, but I was out having a life. You should perhaps try leaving the house occasionally.

It was a delicious moment of irony after you pulled someone else up on spelling/grammar though! And as for having a life.....you were the one on an Internet forum at 8.50pm on a Friday night
I do believe it's 'tangential' btw.

BMW drivers are a bunch of s (predominantly). Tesla ‘3 drivers ? Not seen any...
Anecdotal; but so far this week the only drivers to : drive aggressively; cut me up; cut me up again; & block me from changing lanes twice have all been driving one brand. Oh and piling on the horn for about five minutes after I changed lanes a kilometre in front of them: all BMWs. They just don’t seem to know their place / or in the case of the guy I followed on the empty motorway earlier today, the power limitations of their 118d. Weird because the “hate” is usually directed at Audi’s, I’ve just never had an issue with them.
Get out of the way, shut up and learn your true place is with the mass produced ste white goods cars below a fking Insignia. s. I fking hate them.
fking Boxster driver. Too cheap to buy a proper Porsche, too much of a pussy probably. Get your fking Porsche lite heap of ste out of the way of my ultimate driving machine you utter lightweight.Anecdotal; but so far this week the only drivers to : drive aggressively; cut me up; cut me up again; & block me from changing lanes twice have all been driving one brand. Not sure you can claim any sort of 'victory' given what you drive I'm afraid.

Too cheap to buy a proper Porsche? Never sits with me. One of my friends had a 911 and an Aston Martin DB9 (from new), he sold the 911 and bought a Boxster S as he preferred how it drove. Still had the Aston though.

Chavs. Porsche lite lol I’ll take your bmw barges on any time. You based in the South by any chance yonex? Am sure I’ve seen your aggressive driving style plenty of times; typical arrogant bmw driving tossers.
And don’t you forget it, enjoy the disappearing tail lights and breath deeply on the diesel fumes. Back to the salon with you Vidal....E65Ross said:

I was pulling his chain, looks like he’s a very grumpy person. I do wonder why people get so very upset at what others drive. I couldn’t care less that he bought the wrong Porsche. This is how commited BMW is to ev's. https://insideevs.com/bmw-defends-diesel-ev-hype-i...
Regardless of market penetration from electric vehicle automaker Tesla, Frölich still forecasts a gasoline-fueled internal combustion engine future. He said, “I think the discussion about electro-mobility is a little bit irrational… the world – Russia, Australia, a large portion of the world – they will have combustion engines for a very long time.”
Frölich notes that his “very optimistic scenario” assumes 15% of BMW’s cars going all-electric by 2030. In turn, he sees another 15% as plug-in hybrids — complete with combustion engines which, of course, still require fossil fuels. Therefore, he says, “I have 85 per cent in my portfolio in 2030 with a combustion engine.”
