I can only assume from this that you've never had a car without AC?

Whoa there! Don’t go bringing logic into the argument!

He’s clearly found out that hat Heko don’t make plastic piss flaps for his car and he’s upset, leave him to his sulking!

Yeah, the French.
Just looked up some stuff about it now. It's mostly summarised on Wiki. Pretty interesting, and concerns light wavelengths.

What's wrong with having a car that stands out?

An AC cobra has stickers and stands out... does that make him a bell end?

A 911 could have a Porsche sticker down the side... does that make him a bell end?

It seems a lot of people in this thread will happily moan about "Euro boxes" and "white goods" but when someone tries to change their car slightly or personalise it then they leap on them and call them a bell end.

Pistonheads, contradiction matters.

At a guess, I'd say most of the bellend fads are running their course through the millennial generation. In time they will grow out of it and the next generation will find new ways to be a bell end.
Probably the sanest post in this thread.
Haha. Absolutely.

Back in the 1970s it seemed to be about sunstrips across the top of the windscreen (preferably with names printed on) and jacked-up rear suspension and painted flames along the side a la US hotrods... but on mediocre stuff like Cortinas and Avengers. As a kid I thought that st was cool at the time, but my dad hated that sort of thing and called such drivers bellends and worse. Come the 1980s all that had definitely dated. Driving a hotrod Cortina in 1983? Most certainly not a good look.

1980s saw bodykits - some very bad ones like those on the Tickford Capri.

1990 - Max Power. Nothing more to add. We still currently laugh at such cars on the 'Badly Modified...' thread.

In time, perhaps, (as most things) stuff becomes cool and 'retro' again.
So what you're saying is, ban everyone from driving until they're in their 30's or later and hopefully beyond such tacky modifications? biggrin
Harsh, but it has merit. wink

Remind us - who exactly is moaning, apart from yourself?

Fair point, moaning is the wrong word, or at least when I specificslly said people in this thread moaning.

Ok, give me a definition of the right kind and the wrong kind of person who would own a private plate without being prejudicial to the wrong kind then. Let's see how far you get with that one.
There was nothing in his statement that made nor even suggested any reference to race. Being the delicate perpetually offended snowflakes that you both are, your tiny minds have immediately read "a certain type of person" as being a reference to their ethnicity when it could just as equally have been an intimation that a boy-racer chav driving around in an old car with a nice private plate would not meet the requirements for that "certain type of person".

In short, you've jumped to conclusions, read things that aren't there on the screen and basically called the OP a racist without any facts or evidence, only your own interpretation of his post and it was quite rightly called out by other members.
Hahahahahahahahahahah the snowflake term.

If you actually knew mr in real life you would realise i am the least snowflakey person in the world.

Quick quack obviously understands my point.
That saying right type of person has an implied meaning.... but I don't actually care. I just thought it was funny to point it out.

And it's funny how you care so much.

What this thread is clearly showing is that everyone is a 'bell-end' to someone.

But how do you classify non M?

An M135i is not a true M car as such (M3, M5 etc) so should it have a badge?

So should it be called a 135i and be devoid of all M badges?
