It's pressed plates round this way. Usually combined with illegal spacing, illegal tints and murdered out wheels. Almost invariably on a black or white VAG/Merc/Bimmer with the smallest dag dag engine known to mankind spewing out soot.
Knobs.
Yes! I was thinking of these-Knobs.

Nothing wrong with pressed plates, with correct UK font and spacing. They look way better than the cheap stty plastic ones. Knobs.
Now.... German font pressed plates.... that’s a different story.
Tinted plates seem to be pretty lame from what I can see. It's just that thing of, 'what can I modify next' and that was the best someone could come up with.
I was bought a private plate for my 21st birthday, I put it on a brand new car and now I still own it and it's 12 years old so not sure if that fits into that category. I always thought private plates were a nice way to make the car more personal. I bought my other half a private plate and actually it's got 51 on it despite the car being a 59 registration!

I had a private plate on a 10 year old bmw.
Then it was on a 5 year old Jag.
Then on a 7 year old Mini Cooper S
Now have it on an 18 year old Porsche.
I just like the plate. Never realised it offended some people quite so badly.
I must admit I didn't realise everyone who owns a private plate on a car that's not brand new is blatantly trying to disguise the age of the vehicle. Then it was on a 5 year old Jag.

Young boy I know has just passed his test and has an old corsa C. He has his indicators wired to be on all the time. I almost told him he must have a short in the electrics before I realised that it was intentional. I'm not that old but it made me feel like a grumpy old fart. It did look bad in my opinion though as it doea on any of these cars. Different if its a big American truck or something though.

Jesus, this thread...
I wonder why I post here anymore...
Exactly, yet another thread of people so insecure that they feel everyone else has to conform to their idea of what is acceptable and those that don't are held up for ridicule. Thread after thread is like this... council, parking, plates, black wheels... truly pathetic frankly!I wonder why I post here anymore...
There's a certain type of car enthusiast who thinks that car modification should be protected from criticism, derision or ridicule no matter what it is.
If something is worthwhile or credible, it doesn't need your protection. Let it succeed or fail on its own merit.
In this case, it will fail. It looks like an electrical fault. It has at least some potential to confuse other road users on certain occasions, and it only draws the eye because it's unusual, rather than because there's anything fundamentally aesthetically pleasing about it. Other than that, it's brilliant.

Love these threads, it polarizes into "People who do this are bell ends" and then you get "You are just not down with the kids you old square", the latter I always ending up reading in the style of Rick from the Young Ones.
I am all for a bit of freedom of expression but try and be at least a bit original and not do what everyone else has done, but sometimes, certain aspects of a cars appearance are an excellent clue that the driver may be a bit unpredictable, sometimes though they can be well driven, generally modified and sheddy is a bad sign, modified and shiny tends to be a lot better.
