It's funny because every time the 'twin turbo V8=crap because it's not NA and doesn't rev to 9k' bks I don't and have never seen anyone crying that the F40 or worse off because it has a twin turbo V8? In fact many would have one if offered the chance and compared to the mostly unloved F50 with the 4.7L V12 the F40 is by far the most coveted and feted of the two. Could I suggest that a certain someone above just doesn't like McLaren's?
The f40 is loved above the f50 only by those that don’t own both . The f50 is superior to the f40 in almost every imaginable way simonbamg said:

Try writing in English, your posts may then garner a little more respect.
It’s the content that matters go and have another drive of a 720 in a nice little daydream I found them both competent but dull, the 720S was actually less interesting to drive of the two in my opinion.
I still prefer my 458 Spider to any production McLaren.
I'm sure I will love my 812 when it arrives in a year or two.

hahaha is that before or after you get your Chiron I found them both competent but dull, the 720S was actually less interesting to drive of the two in my opinion.

I think this is great. Far more interesting than the ridiculous Ferrari sp1 and sp2 models which are even more expensive, 5 times as common and basically just 812s with crap bodywork.
Congrats to the lucky owners!
Me too.Congrats to the lucky owners!
Having accepted theres no escaping from electrification, it nice to see the manufacturers of hypercars going forward with new ideas and new tech to make it a 'fun' option we can once again learn to drool over like the days of old
All this traditional V8/10/12 re hashing is not really where the supercar makers need to be focussing if they want to be top of the pile for the upcoming generations.
Generations to come will be born into the tech era and have no anchors nor real appreciation for an old, noisy, difficult to drive fast supercar unfortunately.
TBH
I fear, given how McLaren is on it's mission to release as many cars as possible., what we'll see is a P1 derivative with:
- a longer body section (ala Lanzante's recent experiment)
- no spoiler
- More power from the hybrid assisted 3.8TT
- 3 seat driving postion based on the same "tub"
Perhaps something like this Rough Paintbrush edit
ETA May have the 720s headlight sockets. Cant see them bolting on too much Senna gubbins
Do we know who the lead designer is for the new car?

"but PistonHeads understands the British supercar maker has no interest in breaking records and joining the 300mph race"
Well, because they can't
I suspect they can, but either would be very expensive and/or the car would wreak the engine quickly, which is not good for a premium car brand to be associated with.Well, because they can't
