I think he's confusing 'doors' with 'seats'. Easily done.

never heard of these before
If I recall correctly, Bill Towns designed the car like that originally and "couped it" for the Aston Just in case the four door was ever required. Better to make a four door shorter than a two door longer.

Everyone always talks about electrics in cars like this like it's a showstopper. Good auto electrician will have it all sorted for a few hundred quid. Rust and parts availability are the real headache.
Can't tell if this is ignorance or sarcasm.

Agreed. The written work schedule quote would cost a few hundred alone...

Saw my first ever one of these a few weeks ago. In fact I saw 6 in convoy, some uk plates, some overseas plates, not too far away from an Aston specialist near where I live. It looked like a 70s Martian invasion had landed :-)
I don’t see the appeal though, I could think of dozens of £80k cars I would rather own

The car was very profitable for AML. By their standards at the time they sold bunches of them. Someone liked them. The Aston Martin Heritage Trust had one. It was donated to the Trust and members could use it. I enquired if I could use it to learn that the owner who had donated it had bought it back.

I remember driving past a dark blue/grey "D reg" one parked on a drive off Cowbridge Road in Cardiff (the "Ely" part) in the '90's. I say parked, I'm sure it was on bricks and looked very scruffy. I'm sure it was there a good 10 years...I always thought it was a missed opportunity.

Way back in my yoof when I was a photographer for Street Machine magazine we were doing a story on electronic dashboards and Aston Martin Kindly allowed us to photograph a Lagonda at the factory.
After we had done ,the PR man asked if I would like to have a drive around the lanes of Newport Pagnell.
I just remember the power and the size of the thing, It was their development car and I believe it was supercharged as well.
,At the time my daily driver was a company Chrysler Alpine !

The Vignale Concept.

Thought to have been a Lincoln underneath. That's why AML never lifted the bonnet in public.

1993ish?
