It’s good to see that everyone’s buying into the Porsche comparison. I guess it’s the only way to justify the price of the F-Type.

Any Porsche product would run rings around the F-Type. This is not necessarily a failing per se as the car is positioned as something it isn’t. Think Mercedes SL and it’s much closer.

So you always end up with lots of caveats. It’s not as good as a 911/Cayman/Boxster/whatever BUT it’s lots of fun because of the sound, the oversteery setup, etc etc etc. And the sound is hilarious let’s be honest. As is an AMG.

I wouldn’t go near a 4-cyl version of it. It needs the big barking/popping V8 and all the torque.

I don't know whether the latest cars have particulate filters, but Jaguar only sell the petrol V6 in the EU for the F Type. If you want a V6 in the XE, XF and XJ , you have to have a diesel. XJ has also lost its V8 in the EU. Full range of engines still available in the US though.
