When there is a coupe/convertible version of a particular car, i pretty much always prefer the coupe.

However....this time....i don't, i prefer this.

I honestly cant see the point of this considering the 6 series exists in the same formats.

The 6-series is dead. This is its replacement (with a different number on the back).

I thought this too! Unfortunate title. For that kind of money, I'd want something watertight. smile In all seriousness though, I think it looks a lot better than the coupe, which seems to come from the Audi school of design i.e. draw a big BMW (7-Series?) and remove two doors! I thought that BMW had got back some much needed "edge" in the new 5er but that seemed to be an anomaly. The new 3er looks s***, as does the new 8-Series and Z4.

Every time I see the new 8 series I like it more, I just cannot stand those dials!
It does look slightly better than the coupe, now they just need to sort the rear, the front and the profile....

And agree -those dials look like some stupid Tron homage. What’s wrong with classic round dials? At least being digital, it might be easy to update when BMW come to their senses.

I'm guessing it lights up?

That would be extraordinarily tacky.

The 6 Series isn't dead, it just isn't a Coupe, Gran Coupe or Convertible anymore....it's another one of those god awful looking GT things.

Why have they used a pound shop perfume bottle for the gear selector? No spray no layshaft?

The 6 series should be dead when it looks like that!

Having sat inside one of these (hardtop) recently, I have to say that the cabin is cramped and the back seats non-existent. It's a huge lump of a car and I really can't see the need for it.

Agreed, this is the worst bit for me. Ostentation for the sake of it. In a rolls royce, I'd get it.. in this... no thanks.
