I agree, they look much better without the roof and bonnet scoop.

Looking at the classifieds, get the eye bleach ready for that aftermarket dash

Been on sale for ever, at Motorhub of course.

I'd take a Diablo GT (alongside an F50 and a Carrera GT) as the peak of supercar automotive involvement.

After that, the segment just got all techie and the offerings just don't involve the same way!

The Diablo flicks my switches where a Murcielago/Gallardo/whateverthecurrentoneis leaves me cold.

Irrational, of course, but as I'm almost comically unlikely to ever own any of 'em, I don't think it matters!

+1

Same with F50’s and F355’s, there’s something about 90’s supercars that just get to me.

To be honest the GT Diablo was a complete pain in the proverbial to drive. Pedals were noticeably offset towards the centre of the car and for anyone of 6' height, the roof rail above the door became apparent due to the inward slant from the waist line to the roof. It meant you couldn't drive it with a helmet if you wanted to do a track day, unless you wanted to end up with a serious crick in your neck. The rear view camera also became pretty useless if you had the sun directly behind you, or another car at night time.

The Murci, by contrast, is not so outrageous in the looks department, but it is much friendlier towards the driver as far as driving comfort goes.

I've never been particularly keen on supercars of any era, however I have always like the Diablo, particularly in GT spec, and again in the orange paintwork.

The only other supercar I can think of that I would actually expend effort on getting, given the money, would be a Bugatti EB110, or perhaps a McLaren F1.

Late 80s/early 90s seems to be the start and end of my supercar appreciation!
:-)
Love the Diablo, much more so than the Countach which I think has aged badly - more so than the Jalpa. Love the EB110 also, as well as the F40 ;-)

Makes me want one more. Every journey is a compromise. Much like a defender, or a caterham, the rewards are there for the commited enthusiast.
