To be fair the £20k is the base price. As soon as you add some options it spirals. Having looked at the configarator "my" Ace would be closer to £30k
Strewth. As a non-motorcyclist, my idea of how much a nice bike costs was an order of magnitude out...
Looks bloomin' lovely, mind.

Always hard to compare but it is hand made and exclusive (and has mind-blowing performance) for less than the price spent on options by the average Ferrari owner. Not to mention that you can spend £10k quite easily (so I understand) on a bicycle.

That or possibly super nakeds like the S1000R and Tuono. The Ace does look a bit expensive compared to them - presumably they can't compete on cost because of the handbuilt and low volume nature of the business. If you own an Ace you probably won't see another on the road.

Maybe I need to go to Specsavers but I think it's hideous. No motorcycle frame needs that amount of metal in it.

To the bloke that commented that car companies can't do bikes - surely you must know that Ariel has been making bikes for decades (well the historical Ariel) and that their Square Four produced in the 30s was the S1000RR of its time?

By that logic, your passport should describe you as a fetus.

I AM a bike person, it's too expensive, too heavy and is just for looks. No thanks.
I'm also a bike person. Compared to the Honda VFR 1200 with which it shares it's engine, it's actually 37kg (wet) lighter (Honda 267kg v Ariel 230kg). And it's very similar in design and weight to a Ducati Diavel (234kg). Similar price too.

Fantastic effort. Shame to see owners of what are undoubtedly faster and far cheaper sports bikes knocking it - some people just want something that isn’t following the herd, something really special -an Ariel or CCM has a totally different appeal to a run of the mill (albeit excellent) Honda / Suzuki etc. It’s like an Impreza STI owner pointing out their ride is faster than a Ferrari 308. Missing the point...
