Volvo are doing pretty well these days IMO, their seats are absolutely top notch too, streets ahead of anything that the Germans are putting out.

I quite like the layout/style of that. But boy, is there way way too much grey...

In a standardised world with 2000 cc engines and speed cameras everywhere the inside atmosphere is starting to be a huge selling point for me. I am absolutely impressed by the new Peugeot interiours, the 3008 and the 508 seem to be at least one product cycle ahead of anyone else in terms of design. So, what other newish cars are out there that can impress with their style inside?

I'm going to go against the grain and say I don't like it. I hate that new trend of having a huge centre console, making the cabin cramped and more like a cockpit. Fair enough in a RWD, but not in a Peugeot.

I just think of all that wasted space underneath the plastic.

Yes it’s a shame when people spec all grey or black interiors

The Volvo range can be had with white, cream, red or brown leather and light headlining and pano roof which looks a million times nicer

I’m also a massive fan of the city weave Seats they do

Saying that Volvo have fallen fowl of the big touchscreen to do everything, which just doesn’t work on the road,

I love the new Peugeot’s but from a ease of use point of view the Audi A3 is great, real knobs and buttons for the heater, a well placed MMI wheel and good clear dials

Volvo seats (like Renault) have always been incredibly nice places to sit. Sit in a 10 year old shape S60, you'll get my drift. Small wonder that their owners don't nod off more often, they're that relaxing!

Personally think the volvos interior on the xc90 is dull as dishwater. Too reliant on the screen...

I like buttons and knobs. Once used to them then you can do most things without taking your eye off the road.

Our X5 also has HUD which is pretty handy for basic stuff without looking away at all.

A lot of love for the current range of Volvo's interiors. Wife wanted a more roomy replacement for her MCS Cabrio, we went to look at the XC40 T5. It looked really good inside on-line, but in reality, it was horribly plastickly, awful to the touch. Drove it anyway, felt we had to, it wasn't great. Not for us.

Lexus GS is a very nice place to be, it was the reason I bought one:-

Mine has lovely silver seats with black piano wood, I love it smile

On this theme, the LC500 interior is wonderful. Here, in an unusually speced, all black.

Agree on the Volvo:

Although I do miss the red seats off my previous XF the panoramic roof and massage seats make up for it

I really like the interior of my 308 GT line. Simple design but different than the normal layout with the screen in the dash instead of a tablet tacked on. The quality has also vastly improved over the last gen cars.

It appears to have a super cheap tablet glued to the top of the dash, so royally stuffed, regardless of any surprising material choice or other cohesion.

Maybe just me, but no current interior that could be considered top dollar could have the prominent screen, especially if rather budget & proud.

I quite like the crispness of the design of my current 2018 Panamera Turbo wagon..

The Panamera interior is nice, however the last gen that still had all the buttons was even better. I agree that buttons are a must, always dreamt of lots of buttons when I was a kid.
That Lexus layout is surprisingly nice as well.
This fad with the bolted on tablet screens is so tacky! Whatever happened to integrated or dissapearing screens?
Another feature that should be present is the old Saab blackout dash. Some of these screens and myriad of lights are just too bright for long night time driving.

I had a sit in the new DS7 a few months back, the interior is similar to the Peugeot but better quality materials.

I love the way the door flows in to the dash on that, makes it look a bit more cockpit. Even if I still hate the DS Moniker, to me it's like modern day Jaguar bringing out an E-Type range!
Older but similar style with the dash and door.

What model is that, something American?
It looks like an Oldsmobile

I agree, for many reasons (predominantly safety) that buttons are better than touch screens) That said, Panamera was a fitting name for the last model, as it had more buttons than a Pan Am 747!

A colleague has a new S90, and the interior is very nice. Beautifully finished and very clean and uncluttered.

I also love that new 508 interior. I saw it in an ad recently and did a double take. I'm not sure how it feels in person, but it's very good to look at in pics.

Audi do interiors consistently well, too.

Seeing as there has been mention already of the Peugeot 3008, 508 and DS7 Crossback, I thought I'd just throw this into the mix:

Citroen DS5. The Mk1 had a screen but it didn't become touchscreen until the Mk2, instead the early cars have a wheel control gadget similar to an iDrive system. As a result you have a lot more physical buttons and switches, often finished nicely in chrome or with knurled rotary effects.

I have one lying about somewhere, had it almost four years now and despite what some say about flaky French interiors, these modern Peugeot, Citroen and DS cars have anything but flaky interiors - mine is absolutely silent on the move, not a single squeak, buzz or rattle. Plus all the toys still work perfectly!! For those who like lots of buttons and switches, there are over 100 in the DS5 on high spec examples.

For a long journeys, this car is a lovely place to be.
