"The operation was allegedly carried out by a 'Para-Military' group, coinciding with the presence of his wife in the United States. The group entered his house in Japan under the guise of a band for Christmas dinner.

The reports allege that though the band left after the party was over, Japanese authorities did not know that Carlos Ghosn was hiding in one of the boxes intended for the transfer of musical instruments. He is then said to have left the country from a local airport."

I also saw a suggestion that he went all the way to Turkey in a musical instrument box ;-)

Hope his side of the story can come out now the whole thing seems fishy and the Japanese have a habit of trying to string up people to save their own in business

Musicians of PH, do those flight case boxes that instruments get transported in get scanned at airports? The big ones... that you could fit a person inside...

I'd have thought if it's a privately chartered flight, especially smaller airfield security would be lax, most western countries would be more worried about dodgy imports than what might be going?

So all Julian Assange had to do was organize a new years party with an orchestra! It was all so obvious when you think about it!

Impossible. Assange would have to tell everyone about how fabulous his escape plan would be.

Yeah, that’s a good insight actually.

Maybe on paper they’ll seek to extradite him, but with no real effort being put in and let the whole thing quietly left to drift into the history books as a footnote.
Lebanon has no extradition agreement with Japan. Ghosn's official passport is still in Japan but various TV drama programmes tell us that powerful folk have ways and means to get a nod-through the private jet door at Immigration.
..or he'll likely have duplicate passports which is completely normal for a high profile businessman..

The rumor is that he was on a different name.

No extradition agreements.

He'll be retired in the Lebanon as a Lebanese citizen indefinitely... I would think that infinitely preferable to his other option.
