I get your point. Growing up our only car for several years was a 3 door Polo and then a 3 door Fiat Panda and it worked just fine (only child though). I can certainly get my kid's (6 and 4) seats into the back of my MINI Cooper but then it's quite a faff strapping them in and squeezing the seats in past the front seats and the B-pillar and securing them. It's alright occasionally but would be a bit of a PITA on a daily basis. That said, if the kids are old enough to not need car seats and can strap themselves in, then no bother. smile

I had an RS265 and now have an R26. To me the RS265 already felt quite big and weighty. If this is even more so....

The R26 is the stand out one for me. It's small enough for the roads, has large glass areas and a low bonnet line so you can place it accurately on the road, it is easily mapped to 275, it's cheap to run, etc. It's simply the most fun by far.
