Looks good. That would make a good Range Rover model.

Wonder what Renault think of the logo.

I wonder what the GVM is?

Given the restrictions of UK driving licences, it could cause issues.

5000kg towing capacity is but what licence might you need to tow what ever the Combined Mass might be?

It'll be interesting to find out what the top speed of these truck is?

With any off road vehicle, providing maximum tractive effort at very low speed requires a high reduction ratio between the drive motor / engine and the wheels. Normally, a serious off-roader has a transfer case, which not only routes power forwards and backwards to each axle, but also provides a handy place to locate a second set of "low range" gears. Those gears typically provide a 2 x reduction (or more) to allow each tyre to be driven by a high torque.

In the case of these 'lecy trucks, with single speed gearboxes, there is no oportunity to have a large reduction without seriosuly limiting the top speed of the vehicle (ie like driving a normal 4x4 in low range the whole time). Therefore, probably the real reason that these trucks are what you might call excessively fast and powerful is simply because they needed to fit massively torquey drive motors to reach there tractive effort target........

IIRC they said in the video that it had a 2 speed transfer arrangement

(goes off to watch video again)

Kind of looks like a modern take on the original Jeep Cherokee. I like it. If it does all the things they say it does JLR and the other majors have seriously been caught napping.

Saw a funny quote on Facebook (Yes, really)

"With the advent of the self driving car, how long before a country song is written about a guy whose truck leaves him" biggrin

Tickled me anyway.
