I think I read about an aftermarket tuner is claiming 1000 bhp for their conversion.it might be Hennessy.
I love the idea of it,don't know anyone who would buy one

A Civic Type R has 20" wheels? Why? Do manufacturers not realise that cars are for roads? And roads are full of holes? Are they stupid?
Stupid?

Big wheels sell well.

Are you stupid?
Money money money money money. Always a good reason eh?

I absolutely love mine and on the quest to make it the quickest in Australia.

The engine is extremely potent and very tuner friendly.

The Hennessey package is a joke, there are more than a handful of tuners offer 1000+ HP for less than $10K, one even at $6k.

For businesses, as a general rule, yes

With the Tesla, if I’m pottering around and just want to have a little blast down a lane that my journey takes me down, what kind of power do I get assuming I’m not willing to park up and warm the battery up for 15 minutes?

I really think these Tesla tests should be done in whatever mode people drive it in.

It’s not quite the same but it’s almost akin to running a car on meth and claiming that to be representative of the performance.
I don't think you can 'launch mode' the Tesla from stone cold, much as some cars have a variable redline that gradually increases as the mechanicals gain temperature.

If you've been pottering around in your Tesla and want to have a hoon then the batteries should already be warm.
I've got a P100DL so I can answer this. It lives in Ludicrous mode all the time (that's the L), because the throttle modulation is so good, even the lip on the edge of the garage can be reversed over without issue (NOT possible in the old W12 without a tiny run up or you were launched into the wall). The major difference between ICE and EV is that having the potential to go fast doesn't use more energy until you actually mash the loud (or silent) pedal. So even in Ludicrous mode, if you don't mash the pedal it is normal to drive and will do lots of miles on a charge.

Regarding cold batteries - it's proper fast all the time from switching it on. Faster than anything you're realistically likely to meet (even some bikes), that's for sure. I've never actually used the battery preheating that gets you the last 0.2/0.3 seconds off the 0-60 (which is why sometimes you see 0-60 of 3.1 and other times 2.9/2.8), because I've never felt it necessary and I don't think I could tell the difference. The preheating bit is there for drag strips and willy waving only - you don't need it at all to go quickly!

If there are, I can't imagine they'd be very good. It's 2.5 tons and turns like a boat!

I do know TG/GT/Whatever did their track in it and IIRC it was a whisker faster than a Fiesta ST.

Business exists by making money, by pleasing the customer. There are also cars with small wheels and tall tyre sections, for customers who prefer that.

Is this a worthwhile discussion? Why am I writing these words? Must remember to do my tax returns.

Yeahhhhh, not this trackhawk.

Stock vs stock the Tesla is quicker but it's hideously ugly and not really an SUV. And that dragtimes video was an odd one, my best stock was 11.6 at 118MPH and I've seen a stock TH run a 11.4 also.

I must admit, having owned the older Jeep Grand Cherokee 6.1 SRT8 version, I'm still so fond of the damn platform.

It's horrendous, but lovable. I can only imagine this is an absolute riot but completely unusable in terms of fuel.

Even the 420bhp version I owned was only doing 130-150 miles to a tank. Quite hard to live with in a 4x4.

I've done 11,000km in mine and average pretty much 10 MPG. That includes a wild 2,000km road trip with 40 supercars driving very hard and over 50+ passes either at the 1/4 mile or roll racing. Considering the 2,400kg weight, I'd say that isn't too bad.

I think I averaged around 11mpg. I thought I'd be okay with it as the XFR I had was around 15mpg, but it turned out that it was just a little too low for something not quite as fast as that economy needed it to be.

But I miss it.

It had a cat-back exhaust on it and it was absurd. And I could fit a single bed in it.
