Personally I think the beemer looks better and handles better which also swayed the decision. Dual exhausts instead of those OTT quads. The merc interior is technically better but that tablet dash still put me off immediately.
I love quad exhausts so I see it as positive, plus the fake exhaust trims that Mercedes mostly use wind me up a fair bit. I do question why it has four in some ways, but my old E92 M3 had four and that was slower than this to 60 mph. Quite like the idea of a C43 and this looks to have addressed and updated some key places. Particularly those quad exhausts which make it look so so much better than the previous style.
Comparing deals against a 440i its always goinng to lose given the 3/4 series is end of life yet this has a couple extra years on top now (2?)
I’d say it’d be hard to pick the c63 over this other than a slightly wider body which even me as a pistonheader find it hard to spot these days. Have the same thoughts about new 3 series too given the m340i x drive is incredibly fast and sounds ace... the top level cars are becoming increasingly irrelevant bar looks IMO. The gulf between top tier and just below doesnt exist anymore when compared to say an e46 m3 and e46 330i back in the day.

The crabbing issues is not that bad only really noticeable at full lock when parking but I expect it does effect it as its caused by the conversion to right hand drive and effects all c class and glc that use grippy good branded tyres. On our old glc they fitted budget tyres making far less noticeable but you can notice it on my 2018 c43 saloon. Wouldn't let it stop you buying what is otherwise a great car though. For day to day I think the c43 might be better than the c63 for many as still very fsdt for road use with better mpg and 4wd, just a shame looks a bit normal models.
Yeah, Merc confirmed it was caused by the conversion to RHD. You can see there's zero ackermann on full lock, so the inside wheel and outside wheel effectively fight against each other. The issue in itself wouldn't worry me, but just the impact it seems to have on tyre life. The fronts barely last 10,000 miles it seems?
I was a little worried about the crabbing issue, but you only notice it when turning sharply in multi storey car parks.
my previous W204 C63 had the same issue but wasnt quite as bad as this. The Panamera i just sold also did exactly the same tyre skipping when turning at almost stand still.. i put it down to cold tyres.

My new E63s also has the crabbing issue... i was aware of this before i bought it but i didn't think it was this bad. Moving the car in the morning is horrendous, it physically skips and jerks when i pull out inbetween cars. Its on MSS's. is what it is, its not a nice noise or feeling.
I believe that the GLC is also very poor on summer tyres from the video's I've watched. All season tyres pretty much cures it though(on the GLC at least), but all season tyres aren't great from a handling/cornering point of view. They work on a SUV because handling isn't a priority, but I wouldn't want all season tyres on a high performance car like the E63s. stuart_83 said:
Which is exactly what I ended up doing.
Mercedes wouldn't offer more than £1k discount, and I'm pretty sure at the time it was something like 5.9% APR. It's as if they didn't want to sell me a car.
It's worth shopping around. I achieved a 13% discount on my C63 coupé from Mercedes.Mercedes wouldn't offer more than £1k discount, and I'm pretty sure at the time it was something like 5.9% APR. It's as if they didn't want to sell me a car.

There had to be someone commenting on this. I find the dash looks great so that must be subjective. I reckon it's not an iPad, I reckon it's not stuck. I reckon it's the result of precise ergonomic work and that it's functionnaly brilliant as a result even if it upsets some people who don't own one. Can't see any comedy either, pure or otherwise.
I suppose he was expecting a virtual holographic screen that floats on the center of the dashboard when activated. No other car manufacturer can beat mercedes when it comes to interior aesthetics. The crabbing issue referred to is something I've noticed on my E400 4matic Coupe. On that car it's not a massive deal to be honest. Watching some of the YouTube clips about the condition I would be more concerned about the mental state and driving abilities of the people featured. Look at a manoeuvre that probably requires full lock and decide whether you want to endure the crabbing, take a less tight turn if room or take two bites at it. If you spend a lot of time manoeuvring in tight spaces......buy a different car.

Are we talking about the ackermann effect? If so, don't buy a 911.
Got to say, I am a proper car geek but I was in Mercedes at the weekend with a C43 and C63 and couldn't tell the difference from the outside. No wonder people are saving themselves the money and going for the cheaper one.
All you needed to do was close your eyes and ask them to start them😁Got to say, I am a proper car geek but I was in Mercedes at the weekend with a C43 and C63 and couldn't tell the difference from the outside. No wonder people are saving themselves the money and going for the cheaper one.

That is one gopping dash, still with a stick-on iPad.
Pure comedy.

As you say - subjective.
But it is pure comedy, with a stuck-on iPad.
