RE: Porsche 718 T Boxster and Cayman - official
Discussion
If a Boxster is an everyday car which mine is I have been through a original 986 2.5 then the 986 facelift onto a 987 and my now 981 which is now over 5 years old it's the longest I have kept a Boxster. Usually change every 3 to 4 years .
When the 718 came out didn't like the sound everything else is brilliant just a tad better in every department which is the case with each new model in my view the biggest leap was changing from a 987 to a 981 a much more capable car all round and ride quality car so much smoother even on 20" wheels .
All Boxsters in the range have gone up its seems and the first time a convertible is more than a tin top car which is annoying if your a cab person.
The T boxster although a bit pricey does come with a fair bit of kit and agree 300 bhp is enough for an everyday car on our roads .
I guess technology moves on changes and if your someone like myself I will have to go to a 718 in near future probably be PDK with our roads of today last 4 have been man boxes and it's getting tiresome with the traffic .
Yes I have driven both PDK & Man boxes in a 718 2.0 &2.5 yes the 2.5 is very fast but I thought the 2.0 is a sweeter engine .
It's a shame it's gone from 6 pot to 4 but that's how it is. If you want to stay with the Brand and Boxster and need to change 718 is the only option .
People don't like change but inevitable things change I can remember the steering change from 987 to 981 omg, yes more feel on 987 but for everyday 981 is good .
Only few of my findings living with a boxster in the real world everyday
End of the day all good cars lets enjoy them while we can.
