However it's given Chris Harris another excuse to whinge on Twitter. Did an Evora run over his pet cat or something?
Harris heart has always belonged to Porsche and his videos have been biased for quite some time.

Yet another re hash of the same old 18th century Christmas tree design, isn't it about time they updated it to compete with more modern trees.. etc.. etc.
That may appeal to the modern 'yoof', but not all of us want a tree that effectively does everything for you.. Some of us like the feel and general shape of old trees. Yeah bristles may fall off, and there's the frustration of trying to get the lights on level, replacing failed bulbs on a regular basis etc. Its all part of the experience..
I believe the new CEO has set up a special room at Hethel where the tree has already been stripped down to its constituent parts, each individually labelled. By next year, they are aiming to have any remaining semblance of quality and reliability engineered out.

Great video.

Not sure about Lotus' new rear spoiler design, which doesn't seem in keeping with the rest of the car. Can it be had in colours other than green?

I heard that they were hollowing out each individual branch and needle, in order to add lightness.

Take note Ken...

That was good fun and not over-long.
Yup. Short, fun and to the point. Enjoyable.
+1

furthermore, the inclusion of elements such as the gate man, the older Lotus, and the slow crawl (having a look round, indoors) lend a sense of narrative

this piques the curiosity and is much appreciated between the moments of drifting

fabulous driving, mind; but nowadays we're spoilt for the sweeping, smokey shenanigans of drifting

weaving in a bit of narrative, or implied narrative, is truly entertaining

I don't get his comment? The Evora has an LSD the Exige doesn't. Not sure why this makes the vid ironic. Maybe he got out of the wrong side of bed this morning.

[tongue in cheek] Instead of keeping their Vehicle Quality Testing Area clear, they should run a few of their products around it! biggrin

That was a really nice video. That should be am aired commercial for real. Love the sound now the Evora makes. Intoxicating. And i fully love and appreciate that Lotus still goes with a traditional 6 speed tranny. None of this paddle shifting automatic tiptronic crap that plagues even the best supercar companies.

Harris is the voice of Top Gear now. The vid did come across as a bit of a Stig-ish segement in an old TG sort of way; I enjoyed it but maybe he took offence on behalf of Auntie Beeb.

Harris has never been particularly fond of Lotus. But his journalistic bias against them does mark him out as a bit of a cock.
