I got really excited about buying one of these and looked at the importing route but no change out of £20,000.
Whilst I love small cars and it is nice to be different - at £20,000 it is hard to see past a £15,000 second hand MX5 ND and £5,000 spent at BBR.
Likely to survive the novelty value a bit better, especially if you factor in boring things like long weekends away.

I saw one at a Goodwood Breakfast Club and I absolutely loved it. Just need more money and a bigger garage but we have three convertibles already!

Never heard of these, looks fantastic, and have a lot of want!

Never owned a jap car ever but this, a new jimmy and a GTR would be a perfect 3 car garage!

Seriously like that, and the colour combination is lovely (and I normally hate tan leather).

If the ‘euro’ version with 120 ish bhp became a reality, I’d have one. Hell, I’d have the low power one if I lived in a city.

You’ve got to wonder why Western manufactures are bothering with hybrid drivetrains to squeeze a few more mpg from their obese SUVs, while Japan has had the answer to efficiency for 70 years: less car, more tech!

Buyers buy them. That's why.

How many people driving diseasel SUVs would immediately spout that this was a hairdresser's car? I've had all sorts of little stuff from MX5 downwards and you always get it. Those people will never buy anything interesting in their lives. The same people say you have a little willy when you buy a 6.0 and that you'll never get anywhere when you buy an EV.

No I'm Leicestershire based. Can't miss mine it's the only Liberty Walk s660 in Europe.
I know the owner of the one in selby/york. Another white one.

There is storage space. It has a frunk. I think it should be called a froot though. Front boot.
It's big enough for a shoe or a ready meal....but pretty impractical unless anything other than basic groceries.

Did I mention 50mpg.

I hear people say shove a k20 or bigger engine and be done but it's simply impossible.
I have a h22 Prelude also and the engine gearbox combo is wider than the engine bay on the s660. It's a tiny 3 cylinder.

The hks gt100r kit will give 100bhp and 100lbft which is where I'll end up going. Spoon as of yet don't offer a turbo upgrade.

It's so much fun to hoon around and the engine sounds ace. Much turbo whistle and blow of valve noise. Sounds like a half mini Porsche boxer if you can imagine that.

Fast?......no.

Slow?.....absolutely not. 0-60 in around 10secs but in gear acceleration is great, it has torque. Nothing below 2krpm and runs out of puff at around 6krpm.
Keeps up on the motorway no problem and it's solid to drive, doesn't feel like a small light car.
Limited to 80mph or 132kph.

The Iva test. Didn't like the led headlights as no self levellers or washer jets but passed it after some pursuation. Speedo was converted but its yet to be fully cracked and didn't fully work throwing up ecu codes so it's back in kph which I'll leave it at that as the the fuel economy gauge is km/l and mileage is in km. A little obd2 mph hud speedo works for normal driving.

Winter tyre mode right now as the standard ad08r tyres are a little hard and slidey right now at these temps. Back end keeps wiggling.
I would love one of these. I have a Brabus roadster and your description of the s660 sounds very much like the smart but more refined and with a better gearbox. Can you have the speed restriction removed?

Yep these are awesome - Shame nobody is importing them at some sort of scale at a fixed price.

Not entirely sure they were correct about the headlights - I thought it was something daft like that for HIDs, but not for LEDs?

How much does it cost to have one IVA'd these days, if you don't mind me asking?

Also, can you use the sat/nav/ICE, or do you have to rip it out and start again?

Why don't Honda sell them in the U.K ?
I don't want a 600cc Caterham, but this looks like a very useable fun car.
+1

I'd probably have bought one of these over my smart ForTwo if I'm being honest.

Honda UK just don't give a st about "sports" cars
I loved my S2000 and the old NSX
They've not really pushed the new NZX
Leaving the Civic Type R

That said Honda HQ aren't exactly churning out sports cars.
I like this but not as a sports car.

In 1966 a lady used to loan me her S600, the original Honda S, the one with encased chain drive to the wheels.

With an 11000 RPM red line it really did feel a lot like driving my F2 Brabham Cosworth.

Looks very good. Do old Japanese motors still end up over here when they hit a certain age? I know there is a local company that imports certain models but it seems to be the MPV type vehicles that are popular.

That little buzz box would make a lot of sense in this country.

Yes it's basically a smart roadster but slighter smaller. The speed restriction can be removed with a hks flash editor. With more power it would be like a brabus.
Tyres are narrower than a brabus but it has agile handling assist (brake torque to help turn) and stability assist if it wiggles which it does when really provoked.

Yes led light need washers and levellers but it's still a grey area hence why they allowed it.
IVA test was £200 I think. Torque GT imported it for me.

It's economically unviable for them to do it, they just wouldn't sell in the numbers required to make it worthwhile.
