Thanks for posting. Enjoyed the vid. I think all four are wonderful. Too many moaning bds on Pistonheads these days.
lol - it was the first day back to work for many ...

I agree all four are great - I do actually think the shooting brake is the best one of the lot, followed by the Coupe and then the roadster.

The Volante imho just isn't different enough - a bubble fabric roof would have fixed that - there's a gauntlet for the AM team .... that's not to say I would say no thanks if given the opportunity to get one !

I saw a customer's Zagato Shooting Brake at the local dealer yesterday - Lava Red IIRC, stunning. The pano roof is quite trick; like those electro shutter windows on most Grand Designs houses, it can have its opacity switched.

The interior detailing, particularly the parcel shelf design is nicely executed, but looks a bit high - had it been a smidge lower it might provide more practicality (a moot point). The reality is though, that the majority of Zags go into a collection, never to be seen again, which is a shame.

Standard Vanquish looks better than all these Zagato editions by far imho.

I'm not sure why expressing a dislike for something should be defined as "moaning". Are we all supposed to pretend to like it to show that we're in a good mood?

I'm confused.

Why does PH make out some exterior shots are something of a scoop when MrJWW has had a full production model ready for collection on his channel for the last 2 weeks?

^^ This. They're all absolutely awful.

To my eyes, perhaps the speedster the best of the bunch.

Did you read any of this thread before you posted that?

On second view these are growing on me. Needs the right color pairing inside and out to work. I'd imagine any doubts about the looks are wiped away by the sound of the thing.

I think it’s just the usual human reaction - our brains come to accept that an object should be a certain shape. And when it isn’t our brain rejects it as “wrong”. The history of car design is littered with examples of this

Maybe showing my age but I remember when the curvy Sierra shape cake in, it got slated (“where are the straight edges). But now it’s the norm and our brains accept it as such. And who didn’t react badly when we first saw a Panamera (a 911 gone wrong).

So I understand when people don’t like concept cars - and that is essentially what the Zagatos are. But give it time, see one in the flesh if you can. They are truly stunning designs.

And maybe if you can, next time you see a car with an unusual design, give it a few weeks before deciding it’s hideous. Jeez, even the Senna now looks vaguely acceptable to me smile

Happy New Year one and all!

That's an unpleasant looking rear end, fussy, ungainly and bloated even by modern standards. I don't like the roof appearing to be so deep either, it seems to sit up quite a bit higher than the top edge of the side window glass. I guess it's the somewhat experimental Zagato thing, standard Aston's like the DB11 look good IMO.

That, as a jacked-up 4x4 with less front and rear overhang and with a more space-efficient, less-fussy roofline would be the perfect AML SUV.

Even Porsche eventually admitted that the Panamera looked horrible. The Sierra was derided by traditionalists yes, but it did herald a new era in car design. The AM Zagatos don't.

I am one of the minority who actually likes Zagato's classic designs, almost without exception. No amount of patronisation will cause me to like the Vanquish Zagatos. And I have seen both the coupe and the shooting brake in the flesh.

You're by no means in a minority Doofus in liking Zagato's, albeit you might well be on PH. The Zagato Shooting Brake image (the silver one someone posted above) was the most liked AML Instagram post of 2018 (180k), second highest image....the launch pictures of the car back in April.

Of course no-one has to like it. Everyone has their own opinion, albeit the two noticeable things about PH over the years are 1. PH seems to have a lot of conservative (with a small C) posters and. 2. Those same conservative posters always seem to shout loudest

Its not meant to be patronising, its purely an observation (we're allowed to make those aren't we?). Take it however you want
