Loads of variants yes, but Porsche makes no reference to each being a new model.
So that’s where the line is?
How much is a Porsche 911 in comparison to a McLaren?

Short term, this business plan is not affecting their sales but at some point you have to think that residuals will become a factor surely?
It is an odd one - Porsche is allowed to produce the Carrera, Carrera S, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Convertible versions of all of these, GTS Versions, Turbo, Turbo S, GT3, GT3RS, GT2, GT2RS, Carrera T, Speedster and McLaren gets slated for producing a coupe and spider version of the same car!

I guess you missed the very unexpected launch of the the 992 cab? That will come in how many variants?
At least 8 (2, 2S, 2GTS, 4, 4S, 4GTS, Turbo, Turbo S)? Probably missed at least 1 and I don't count the speedster. biggrin
Loads of variants yes, but Porsche makes no reference to each being a new model.
Yes they do.

First example on the Porsche Media site is the announcement of the 718 T:

That I do believe is Napier green and is the colour mine is going to be, although when I specced it I had no idea that might be the launch colour, I just loved it.

Whoosh parrot for you. He means the 2S, 2GTS, 4GTS and so on aren't seen as new models but just variants of a current model. Yes a new generation becomes a new model. For the 911 the new model started with 992 Coupe, and now they're piling on the variants.

Those complaining...its baffling. Porsche has ALWAYS had lots of variants on a 911. And they come out with familiar regularity. We know a Turbo, Turbo S, GTS, GT3, GT3RS, potentially GT2/RS will come along. Variety is NOT a problem.

You can have your parrot back. T is just another variety of 718, like S or GTS. You can see the same with the various 911s (S, GTS, T) being described as new models when they launch. Personally I don’t have any problem with that but saying it doesn’t happen is incorrect.
