RE: Everytimer creates 1 Series-based ETA 02
Discussion
If it was an actual 2002 with lots of [hidden] modern bits in e.g. engine, electrics, safety things - stuff that's good/helpful/makes it faster but which, you can't really see, then maybe. But this looks like a st kit car - the front is bad, but the rear is really, really bad. And the modern interior makes it even worse.
I just don't see who would buy one. Ever.

I think the only retro kit worth bothering with is the GTO on a Z3 kit - https://www.rcnmag.com/garage/a-rolling-stone
But you either need to keep it badge-less, or keep the BMW badges.

I...errr...quite like it
+0.75 (not my contact lens prescription, I couldn't quite give it a +1 for 'me too'). I don't think it's that bad. I suspect it'll be a short-lived low volume (single digits) production run, but there are definitely elements of the car I quite like. I've seen better colours than the ones they've used in these pictures too, in which the rear end doesn't look like diseased genitalia (as brutally described above).I quite like the E82/E88 shape though, so to think they've performed the 'she devil' transformation on one to make this car seems like a bit of a waste of energy, but I'm sure someone somewhere (probably Bavaria) will buy one.

Hideous in every way. I've seen a syphilis ridden fanny that was more attractive than this.
Nice! I think it’s quite a fun idea, it’s clearly not remotely meant to be a replica, just a bit of fun, in the same way the Mitsuoka Viewt was not trying to be a Jaguar Mk2, but something jolly and nostalgic. I used to have a 2002 Turbo and I presently have a 2000 CS, so I am a huge fan of this era of BMW but I am ok with this and would even consider having one, precisely because it is not meant to be a replica but a bit of fun. Not in either of those colour schemes though and not with the blacked out trim. Pale yellow, orange, lime green or Chamonix white are the colours , and the chrome needs to be reinstated, the dechroming does not work. Best of luck to them, they are trying to make something different that celebrates an icon, and being a 135i at core will itself be a pretty decent car.I think it’s fun. Far from a flawless execution, the front fascia is a close copy but the overall car proportions don’t quite fit it so it look so like a messed up copy rather than a homage with its own identity. I’d enjoy seeing it in the flesh though and I’m glad people do stuff like this.
