Lets face it how many Uterus's do we think will actually be used to carry things and people in? I bet the majority will have just the driver or one passenger in. Its just a massive statement car for rich people to show how much money they have.
I'd suggest all uteri will only carry people, usually 1 at any given time, often unused for many years. Occasionally 2 or more may occupy at any given time.Don't be so childish with the naming. It's rather pathetic. One could call your Volvo a vulva, for example, but it'd be like being back to the early days of secondary school. Grow up, would you.
Secondly, why does it matter if it's not used to carry things and many people in, and the majority would just have a driver? Why does that matter? The driver buys it, if they're happy with it, why should you or anyone else care? Friend of mine had an RS4 avant for several years. He used it once a year for holidays, that was it, otherwise it was just a daily runabout for him, he rarely used the large boot. Should he have got a single seater to take him to and from work instead?
I genuinely don't understand the vitriol towards SUVs, or some cars in general. If you don't like it....don't buy one. It's not difficult. Or are you so against someone having a larger choice?
Was talking to a friend last night about his, he’s picking up today I think. It’s extraordinarily expensive in Switzerland!
I don’t understand the whinging, modern car manufacturers need to make money. Be grateful that the Urus exists and that it delays the inevitable scourge of soulless milk floats.

Sounds like someone's very bitter to me... Maybe you should have studied harder in school? Trying to take some sort of moral high ground is simply pathetic as we all in some way shape or form make statements regarding wealth in the 'nice' things we like and choose to buy. Yes, even you do it!Around where I live, rich yummy-mummy types (i.e. those carrying more than one passenger) LOVE the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, Range-Rover Autobiography, Merc GL and G-Wagen, Bentley Bentayga, Audi Q8/RSQ7 etc and the Urus will join them as it perfectly fits with what wealthy families want. All of the aforementioned cars are statements to show how much money one has - so what? Should none of these cars exist? Should they be all driving Dacia Dusters with steel wheels? Get over yourself already. As E65Ross said, even if that's not the case that they're used in a practical capacity, why do you care if someone drives one by themselves anyway? You simply not liking the people who like/drive SUVs is irrational at best, jealous at worst.
Who do you think Lamborghini have sold so many Urus to? If all these people simply wanted to drive alone or have one other passenger, they could have bought a Huracan at a similar price point but obviously that car isn't one you'd necessarily want to drive as a daily - the Urus is a FAR more practical proposition.

Seen a couple on the road, different but a Lambo needs to turn heads...these do not!!
style wise its very diluted against the uncompromising Lamborghinis, but what can you do with the demands of an SUV platform? I see a shiney metallic green one of these often around town, it makes me cringe - it's a mum-wagon for people who want to kid themselves they don't really have a mum-wagon, its the vehicular equivalent of a bloke with middle age spread squeezing himself into skinny jeans and trying to impress girls down the club.sidesauce said:

It’s surely their money though to spend as they like?BigR said:

If it was all-electric he'd love it.
It's funny, people keep saying Lambo are now rubbish, nothing like the good old days when they had the Countach....yet so many people who have driven one say they're a right PIA.....James May absolutely hated it. Now they make exciting cars which are usable. Anyone who doesn't think a Huracan Performante isn't a "proper" supercar needs their head looking at IMO.
Excitiing though? Not so sure. VAG re-dresses Q7 into every brand their own and it does sell well, I'll give them that, but to say they are "exciting"? No sure on this one. It's funny, people keep saying Lambo are now rubbish, nothing like the good old days when they had the Countach....yet so many people who have driven one say they're a right PIA.....James May absolutely hated it. (yes I'm aware that they've put a bijillion horse power under the bonnet to make is schnell in a straight line)
It's also been said on here earlier, but an Urus really is not a Q7 in another dress. Really, the commonality of parts is incredibly low. But we shouldn't let facts get in the way, of course.
The engine, if memory serves, is from Audi, not Lambo's own creation.
Yes, it has a fecktonne of space stuff carbon fiber in it to make it lighter than, say, Breyugly and yes, you can argue parts commonality (and a lot of the mentioned carbon fiber structure is bespoke to this car), but these cars are built on the same platform and use parts from the same bin.
Re-dressing Q7 makes this car cost-effective and maximizes ROI, but I do appreciate a lot more work went into Urus than some other re-dresses that VAG has done.

Not really. You;re focussing on looks but a) it has definitely got its own style and b) it's not just simply the aesthetics people are after - the performance of this SUV monsters most 'normal' cars - in fact, it pretty much outperforms every previous Lamborghini from before the original Murcielago!sidesauce said:

It certainly does have its own style. I quite like it but it lacks a certain 'drama' that is normally associated with a decent Lambo. I am in no doubt that it's a cracking drive though!E65Ross said:

It’s just progress, like it or not.
Not sure all these oversized SUV's on the road is progress for society. In the US they have a history of this, because they have more road space.
I'm not sure if Lamborghini would have gone bust without this SUV, but it certainly provides a more unisex appeal for new buyers / drivers.
Once upon a time you needed significant triceps to pilot a Lambo well. Bingo Wings were pretty useless

I'm not sure of you're being serious or not? Based on what you're saying, should be ban all cars with electric power steering and a large boot? In the US they have a history of this, because they have more road space.

And all the better for it, the Countach looked fantastic on paper, but cars live on roads. My sole, 5 mile drive in a Countach was utterly miserable.
I would suggest that at 5 whole miles neither you or the Countach were even warm https://www.arnesantics.com/i-went-searching-for-t...

Since when were Lamborghinis not for middle aged men in nightclubs? Hardly diluting the brand!
Urus should be here in next 2 weeks, and will be nice to get a break from taking the other one to work. Will keep an eye out for triceps shrinking and bingo wings developing ;-)

You will have some balance in your journeys so the bingo wings may not materialise

It doesn't particularly matter to me if it is driven by one person, but I was responding to someone who said it will be bought to carry people and items in, which it wont. Its just an oversized ugly heap which you may have the misfortune to park next to in its two parking spaces. (probably only in Monaco admittedly).
I have no problem with an RS4. Tell him he can carry on using it.
