It looks like an Alfa 8C had a one night stand with an MX5 and weren’t sure if they should keep the baby.

If I was a big Toyota fan boy I'd not like that BMW switchgear, its not really a proper Toyota to me

Hideous, in every colour from every angle.
I'm usually quite a Japanese car fan (having had many in the past), but I'm struggling with this.. It doesn't seem to have any particular USP.

If it was my cash, and I wanted a 'sports car', this would come an easy third behind the Alpine and Cayman..
Lol, you have never driven it, seen it in the flesh yet so quick to judge on its USP....... welcome PH.
Why do I need to have driven something or seen it in the flesh to give my initial opinions on it?

What is it's USP? It's M140i drivetrain (not a bad thing), or its Z4 chassis (also, probably not a bad thing)?

I guess I (like many) were hoping for something a bit more original and different from Mr.T..

Good to see these images of the Supra in the grey, they seem to show the contours of the surfaces a lot more than the red car pic's, though that might just be down to image quality.

Overall I think it looks like a very good effort from Toyota, great to see them building sports cars again with this and the GT86 in the line-up. I really like the classic long nose, stubby rear sports car shape. As per modern car design generally, some of the details are somewhat fussy, but the swoops, bulges, vents, etc. do give it some drama, I'm sure it will have some presence on the road. It does look a little tall and narrow but I'm guessing that this is down to the relatively compact dimensions and short-ish wheelbase.

I like that they have pitched it at the £50k-ish mark to rival the likes of the M2 and Cayman. The BMW Z4 links don't bother me, it's capable hardware. The performance seems ample as standard for a quick road car, and they will be plenty of tuning options no doubt. If I were in the market for this type of car I'd be really interested in this Supra.

The price has put me off the car massively, I’m not that much bothered with how a car looks, more so how it drives and what engine it has etc.

In the grey it does look nice and I’m a fan of the interior apart from the steering wheel but at 54 grand, I can’t help but think it’s overpriced. If it had the S55 engine or more power then yes but I don’t see how this is worth more than a well specced M2 Competition with more power, better engine and 2 extra useable seats, never mind a Cayman/Boxter.

This will be a brilliant car to drive, no doubt and I’m sure the power is more than enough but I struggle to see how this will sway Porsche buyers over with that price. I hope it does well as I love seeing the underdog win but I don’t see it happening here in the UK.

MX5 was rear ended by a GTR and the rear now looks like a 4C kit car.

Vielside or LW might be able to make it look better, well see in:

Tooo fast, but not fast enough yet, quad NOS buttons, huge tripple rear wing edition, surrounded by lots of half naked slo-mo dancing asian girls.

Love it, "We want proper 90s Carina mini cab switchgear, not that BMW crap".

I sort of like it but there is a bit too much going on styling wise.

I quite like it, get some wider wheels, lowered, different front bumper/splitter and rear spoiler like the ft-1 concept would finish it off nicely.

were they trying to make it look like a kid on a council estate had bolted a poor body kit to his car, a la fast and furious style ? too many swoops, lines, curves. what older bloke (who can afford it) is going to buy one of these ?

It's finally here..that took a while.

I really like the design, interior looks decent too.

Not a fan of the matt grey colour or the wheels on the red car however.

not only hideous from every angle as mentioned but it doesn't even have a Toyota engine??? if you ask me it smacks of the EU saying to the rest of the world if you want to sell your cars in Europe they'll have to have an EU Built (read German) Engine which complies with our rules that we made to safeguard our jobs.......another boring globalist car made for the boring mindless globalist consumer.....and for that reason "um oot"
Yup, you're right. It's a giant conspiracy to only sell German engines by those nasty Germans. They don't publish the only-German-engines rules, but we know the truth.

Maybe you should reading the Daily Mail.

Mk4 was a biggish (at the time), beautifully proportioned, avant garde uber Toyota. This looks like an overstyled z4 based kit car. But priced like the chermans. Shame.

Applaud them for making it (it can’t have been easy getting it past the bean counters
Although platform sharing helped)

It makes the roads (and Internet) a more interesting place.

All this moaning about Bmw bits inside,
How do you all sleep at night driving those Audis full of Golf and Polo bits
or those lowly Mercedes powered DB11’s ?

Renault engined Nissans.
Peugeot powered Minis.

Badge engineered Vauxhalls.
Citroen platforms everywhere.
Recycled MQB Seats.

This! Plus it’s blatantly a BMW shift selector.

Not sure it’s a bad thing though....
