The FT1 concept looks stunning, the production car looks awful, what a shame!

I think the engine will be fine, it's a cracker in my 440i, but only because of the M Power, Performance and Sound Kit being added. I'm also concerned that in Europe at least the new requirement for the PPF is really going to mute the noise as it has done with other B58 BMWs.

I also thought for a Supra it should have been running more like 380bhp or 400bhp, not sure why it isn't unless they are going to release a hotter version in the future. There is already a 380hp version of the B58 in production and it's the platform for the new M3/4 engine (S58).

The front wheel gap is insane, looks like it's got a front lift mode turned on and much like a 335d xDrive with hideous wheel gap.

So a £20k premium over a civic type R to go slower with less practicality.

It looks kind of sporty but I don’t see the market for this.

Japanese cars always needed to do more for the money, or do the same for less.

This is just an ok car for a lot of cash. Such a shame.

In the video the car looks much nicer than the pics but having never seen Shmee before what is up with his smile
Ha ha. He looks terrified and happy at the same time. He's also a walking press release which the brands must love. I can't watch his videos.

The car does look much better in the vid that the images tho'.

Hm, I'm not sure about this.... Why would I buy this instead of a BMW Z4? It's not better looking (they're both not lookers), it's only marginally quicker, and the BMW is a convertible... I just don't see the point of this car. For £50k you could get a Cayman or an Alpine, both of which look better, are likely better to drive, and will probably keep their value better than a BMW with a Toyota badge.

I wanted to like this, as I'm a huge fan of the last Supra. But I'm sorry, this does nothing for me. I'll get this and keep the change. thank you very much.

1st pic thats what i thought

How does the new one compare to the old one? It looks smaller (& maybe higher) which isn't a good thing imo

Like it ! Definitely prefer this to a 50 grand massively depreciating Renault...

German engine where you'd want Jap reliability though ?

Love it, "We want proper 90s Carina mini cab switchgear, not that BMW crap".
I was thinking exactly the same! BTL of virtually every article on a Japanese car some wag will roll out the 'interior from an 80s Datsun' line, before praising the Germans for their understanding of what makes a quality interior. Yet when a Japanese manufacturer puts an actual German interior in one of their cars - 'Don't like it, too German'.

BMW must make more money out of this than Toyota..

Crass and ugly can't see it selling well.

Massively better looking than the Alpine.

Let's applaud more cars into this market sector.

i really don't like the front end on these although I haven't seen one in the flesh but the proportions look off.

This! Plus it’s blatantly a BMW shift selector.

Not sure it’s a bad thing though....
I'm not saying its bad, its just unexpected. Where's the Toyota gone underneath the shell?

Looks fantastic in grey - lots of Z4 E86 overtones in the looks - looking forward to seeing / driving it

but I must confess that I didn't hear much of the first moments of this video because I couldn't stop laughing

of course it's unsporting of me, but, really, nobody should be working so hard to smile so much like that; it's like something out of Clockwork Orange, the first moments of smiling in that cavernous white studio
I thought exactly the same! I could only watch is top teeth, I couldn't see/hear anything else! I know from posts on here that he is a decent guy, but I find him difficult to watch. Obviously I am in the minority.

So compared to the z4 m40 it’s...
Uglier (subjective but I don’t think the z4 is a looker either)
£3000 More expensive
Has no convertible roof
Still auto only

I just don’t get it
