S010 MON primarily comes up on google as failed OCR conversion of Solomon on Google Books. I suppose a correctly spaced plate might make a great in-joke for a librarian with that name working on a digitisation project. Otherwise, no.

No.

Only crappy ones. As another poster has correctly pointed out.

Crappy plates are the ultimate in fakery.

Worse than trying to impress with a fake Rolex.

Certainly makes a statement.

That statement is that the Chavplater/fake Rolex wearer is a knob of the highest order.

And in the case of the Chavplater a total and utter knob of the highest order who thinks their vanity is above the law.

If you cannot afford a proper 'personalised' and legal plate then don't bother with the fake and illegal Chavplates.

Unless, of course, you are in the total and utter knob camp.

I think Mr Soloman has purchased wisley and as long as displayed correctly "SO10 MON" will certainly only increase in value as many many past DVLA auction plates have proven time and time again just as I have been offered several times more for my number on more than one occasion,I just look at it as a bit of fun but an appreciating asset with absolutely no maintenance costs.....yes
You appear to be correct, this thread proves there are people with more money than brains, still.

I've made it quite clear that I think ALL private plates are a bit chavvy. Why spend all that money on drawing more attention to possibly the worst looking bit of the car? It's a bit like extending the Gucci tag on your clothes so it sticks out....most normal people won't notice it or give a st.

Attention seeking is attention seeking whether it's snobby rich attention seeking or chav chunky gold attention seeking. If anything its worse, as you're basically saying people aren't allowed in your little pointless attention seeking club unless they can buy their way in.

Private plates utterly pointless. People with private plates getting annoyed at someone for pushing two numbers/letters closer together.... baffling!

Are bad plates more or less 'fake' than pretending to own all of Daddy's cars?

And what about your own plate? The one that used to be on an Audi, despite your views on Audis?

Top comedy.

Think you are confusing me with someone else chum.

Don't do private plates.

Certainly don't do Audis which incidentally and unsurprisingly are one of the most popular Chavplaters (pcpd) chariots of choice. biggrin:

Then why are you getting so worked up about a space in the middle of a number plate? It makes it no more or less chavvy than any other private plate lol.

Fair enough but the main point is that non chavvy 'good' personalised plates are legal.

Whereas Chavvy fake 'crap' plates are illegal.

That should tell you all you need to know about the plate and owner.

Its hardly the crime of the century to close one gap. As long as the letters are all clearly visible then what's the harm?

Yeah it'll likely fail an mot (but mightnt), who cares, honestly.

Aweseome plate. I'd love to have my own plate and will do once I'm even more successful than I am now, although I'd never thought of naming my company after a number plate. What a brill idea.

At the mo I work for others but soon I hope to set up on my own, hopefully taking my high-net-worth customers with me, and I'd need to think of a name, preferably one with a bit of gravitas and meaning. Funny, although most of them have their own plates, none of them have named a company after their number plate, so I need to see what plates I can get.

Imagine how cool it would be to set up a finance company called BM55BOY or MON1Y (not my real numbers lol) and then be able to have my picture next to my BM showing the SAME PLATE AS MY COMPANY NAME. WOW. That would really give a strong message to people about the sort of person they're dealing with, ie a person who's made a success and who has their own number and company.

I think Mr Simon SOLOMON has nailed this personal number plate thing.

Imagine if he owned something boring like BDS 1, he'd have to call his company Bernard's, which sounds daft and so 'last century'.

It's a pity so many Range Rovers have naff plates, as in the one shown owned by Mr Ge62 are whatever, spoils a nice car. Maybe it's a non-European name and he's called Gesixtoo, is that Lithuanian, perhaps. I haven't yet seen a BM with naff plates, must be different type of owners lol.

Solomon Grundy,
Born on a Monday,
Christened on Tuesday,
Married on Wednesday,
Took ill on Thursday,
Grew worse on Friday,
Died on Saturday,
Buried on Sunday.
That was the end,
Of Solomon Grundy.

No, no. Mr Solomon already owned W15 LEY, so the company is called wisley. Obvious. wink
