"Bid on the auction and what it sells for is the best price"
Thanks that seems like a good reply - I’ll use that + would ya take five hundred for it mate?
+ can you take my corsa in as p/x bruv...? 1 month MOT but comes with a fresh magic tree init
+ [when you ignore them] ... can you reply to my message mate, i really want to buy you car
+ if we can agree on price can I pay you in installments, just got to manage me cash-flow init bruv.
I like to inflate what I think the car's worth. They either go away or send one or two "wtf bruv" messages and then ignore you. I put an old C-class up on eBay a little while ago, and I had loads of "£400 doin u a favor innit" and "wubp i got 330k miles passat eml on" type messages. On a good day the car could have fetched £1500 (I got £1400 so not too bothered), but I replied to all of my brothers suggesting they come and buy the car now for £3000.
You usually put a buy now price on ?
So I refer them back to that or enter the auction .
Problem or satisfaction depends on which way you look at it comes after the auction when a chancer ( various low ball email offers politely refused ) comes to collect , and it’s gone a bit or a lot over the “ buy now “
Eg I had a set of Cayenne winter wheels 18 inch + 1/2 worn winter tyres on for about £200 .
The price I pitched from other sales .
Local guys msg me says “ what’s your lowest price etc “ .Eventually offers £150 and can come that day to collect ,I politely say as others infer above to take part in the auction , he pesters me suggesting that they may go for less then his offer , I say that’s my risk etc ( there’s about 5 days left .)
As it happens on auction day there’s another keen bidder and he goes to £350 , comes round the next day in his new to him Cayenne, he’s off skiing ( wife n kids in tow ) the following weekend .
The look of disdain and disgust on his face as I count out his cash while he loads up the wheels was incredible.
It’s was as if I’d outsmarted him or he couldn’t get the upper hand or something.
Worlds full of idiots and sometimes with eBay you end up meeting them .

Why would someone not have just used the £200 buy it now price rather than paying £350 or have I misread this? So I refer them back to that or enter the auction .
