27 years of age

1) 2000 discovery TD5 GS - Reserve work truck/offroad truck, hate the thing, every other day it presents a problem, soon to be going.
2) 2009 Transit LWB dropside - work truck, not as reliable as I'd like, £4k last year in repairs. Possibly going soon to be replaced by either a Ford ranger Supercab/Nissan Navara King cab & trailer combo, due to not needing to carry materials every day and working further away.

3) 2008 Corsa SXI, wifes car, slower than a glacier. Will be replaced this year by a Qashqai/Kuga
4) 2004 Volvo S60 2.5T, my car/family car. Love it, quick and comfy. But will be going on arrival of ranger/navara & Kuga/qashqai

Mid 40s, my Octavia vRS still has half a tank of fuel in from when I filled up in October. My Yamaha TDM 900 gets a bit of weekends use but since starting a new job in August my commute is generally on my push bike or running.

Been driving the same grandad-spec Insipid diesel since 2009, but the nice folks at JLR will soon be building me a grandad-spec XE - with a shedload of toys and the 300hp AWD petrol setup bounce

Did you know what VBRJ stood for when you bought the regs? laugh
You’re not the first to ask - J4CKO wins that prize.

I was looking for anything that I could get v10 & v12 of, without paying more than a few hundred quid, so seeing those available, I went for it ‘cause it’s a bit of fun... That said, VBRJ is from my lurking, rather than posting days - got to be quite a few members with no idea now, I suppose.
They both have PH smileys on the bottom right of the rear plate, but no-one’s ever mentioned it in public - so I guess it’s not that well known.

haha, great that you're in the know.

Love the M6, always thought it a nice left field way to get the v10.

Just turned 19 in Jan. So far I've had in order:

2005 Ford Focus 1.6 Flight. Didn't like it, so I sold it to my mum a month or so later for £1k. Run reliably for 2 years, sold for about £700.

2003 Ford Focus ST170. It was my family car from 2003 to 2005, found it for sale 12 years later and bought it back. Currently on the drive needing welding and paint. Never gonna sell it, plans for a full resto this year.

1998 Subaru Impreza 2000 Turbo Wagon V4. Always wanted an Impreza, so when I Stage 2 car came up for £1300(ish) I knew I wanted it. I'd been to see a few before it, I'd also driven this car months before with a knackered gearbox. Still used to knock into gear, sold it for £900 and an STI rep bugeye.

2003 Ford Focus ST170. Bought for around £500 as a project. OAP owned it from 2007, never cleaned it once. A blessing actually, he bought it on 25k and the filth inside protected the interior plastics. After a major clean, it still looked like 25k. Sold for £750 a week later.

1999 Subaru Impreza 2000 Turbo Wagon V5/6. Got offered it for £900, I told him if he drove it from Sheffield to me in Leeds then I'd have it. 140k, STI wings and newage WRX wheels. It was a Stage 1 car, drove well. Never cleaned it or filled it up. Sold it a week later for £1200 to buy the next car after I found out it was a Cat C.

2005 SEAT Leon Cupra R 225. The best car I ever owned, one I regret deeply selling. Like the Focus, it was previously owned 2005 to 2008, in fact it replaced the Focus (which still had the SEAT service sticker in the boot). I had a week to get the money to buy it as I was going on holiday. He was nice enough to hold it for me, at 3PM on Friday I sold the blue Impreza, 3 hours later I sold the silver and got an awful STI rep. I caught a train to the otherside of Halifax, gave him £2800 and took it. it still had the old SEAT paperwork, including the trade in slip for my Focus. Got it home at 12am, 3 hours later I woke up for my flight. Sold it a few months later when it needed work. Still regret it, kept in touch with the owner and hopefully I'll have it back for good this year.

2001 Subaru Impreza 2.0 GX STI Rep. The guy who I got it from turned out to be a prick, so I decided to break it. Ended up making a good profit from it. Amazingly it got put back on the road. Drove it once, absolutely hateful car.

2003 Ford Mondeo. I bought this after seeing Mischief TV on VinWiki. Paid £250 for it, drove it back from Manchester, then to work for a week without fault. Got it sent to Bristol and now it's in Canada. Heres the story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVUIur6zRqk

1988 Peugeot 205 GTI 1.6. I was planning on a 205 after the Leon, then this came up for sale (https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1001632) at a good price about 6 miles from me. I offered him £1880 on Sunday and picked it up on Monday. It was mint inside, it looked pretty clean outside too. Sold it to a guy in Wales as a project for him. Last I heard, it was pretty much all filler. Messaged him to see how it's going, hoping for a reply. Brilliant car.

2004 Honda Civic Type R. Took it as a swap and £150 my way for the Leon. Never really liked it. Wasn't overly fast, steering was average. handling was ruined by bad tyres, seating position was terrible with a high dash and low seat. Gearshift was absolutely perfect, the engine was stunning and the seats with comfy and supportive. Sold it for £2k with no service history, 124k and average bodywork.

2002 Ford KA. Bought for £150, broke it for parts. Loved driving it, would've actually kept it if it wasn't so rotten.

2002 BMW 735i. Decided after a run of sports cars, I'd like a fully loaded barge. So after nearly buying a CL500 and a Jag XJ, I bought this for £1400, gearbox went into limp mode on the way home and dumped oil. Nursed it to the pub, then home. I was expecting a write off bill, £200 service later it was sorted. Still a slight leak but never had an issue with it. Later sold for £2k(ish). Liked it, can't see me owning another, but I'd be happy if I found myself with one again, albeit a better one.

2000 Volvo S80 2.4 S. Bought for £250, test drove it with no errors. Got out, paid him £250, got back in and the dash started to light up. Got it home with a dash lit up and limp mode on. Scrapped it the next day for £250, had a tenner of fuel in it. Took the jack out and some other stuff so I guess it was even.

2003 SEAT Alhambra 1.9 SX. A 2 owner ex taxi with 170k on the clock, tatty, absolutely disgusting inside, paid £300 for it. Great car, an MOT and a good clean later and I sold it for £750 to a grandad for his grandkids. He's happy with it, seen him on the owners club page.

2002 BMW 330d. A leggy 130k 330d that I overpaid for with a huge oil leak. The seller was local, he stunk of weed and cheap aftershave. I knew it'd been absolutely ragged because I'd seen it driving about. Tyre blew, rear shock was gone, it went through 5l of oil every 3 days, it leaked coolant, drivers door wouldn't open from the outside, heater didn't work and the bodywork was average at best. Interior was filthy and caked in that awful shine stuff. I paid £1400 for it embarrassingly. Sold it for £1k after putting a tyre on it. I liked the 330d, I didn't like that example. It was the 184 with the auto, contrary to everyone else, I prefer the 330d with the auto. It's due an MOT in 8 days, that should be interesting. The lads were happy with it at least.

2002 Ford Focus 2.0 Ghia. I said the 330d would be my last car for a long while, I didn't wanna end on a bad note though so I bought a £275 2.0 Focus. Drove it for a week, sold it for £400. Great car.

This year I plan on getting the Leon back, buying a PH1 Pug 405, a Ford Orion, Citroen BX, Ford Sierra, Ford Granada and another Subaru for a summer plan I'm working on.

Get to borrow my wife's V90 diesel if I'm a good boy. My F80 M3 was nicked in October and still can't decide what to get.

Quite like the look of an Abarth 695 Biposto and also a Cayman GTS and and and...
