I'm 45 and we have 3 cars.

Daily driver is my 987.2 Cayman 2.9. Absolutely love it, great handling and quick enough for 99% of situations.

Weekend car and trackday toy, is my R300 Superlight with the wonderful 6 speed 'box. Dry sumped, with 6 pot brakes, LSD etc it's a wonderful thing and not something I plan to sell for a very long time.

Mrs GP is waiting for delivery on her new XC60 R-Design. Should have been delivered a few weeks back but the dealer ordered us the wrong car...should look like this when it arrives.

31. Currently zero cars (access to partner’s A1) as recently sold the Megane RS250. Currently on the hunt for something more practical. Current thinking is Subaru Legacy, the JDM turbo one. As need something more practical for shoving mtb and skis in the boot. Miss the Megane already though.

Thanks. thumbup

Time flies - I'm now over 60 and both cars have changed!

E91 325i was replaced with an E90 330i and Z4 3.0Si Coupe replaced with a Z4M Coupe.

Great thread. Some stunning cars. I am 33 I probably posted before I still have the boring Audi A3 diesel it ticked over 170k miles this week.

But I swapped the GT4

20th Anniversary Lotus Exige410 one of 150 with 25 being orange I think.

The spirit R is stunning, every time I see a Clio Trophy posted I miss mine. I still want to try a Caterham as well.

But being honest and realistic I love the Exige I think it’s the best compromise between drivers car and practical. I could drive to Scotland init for example and it be comfortable. Wouldn’t fancy it in a 7. So no idea what I would replace it with.

Ha not a bad shout. The A1 is <1 year old so probably lose too much money on it if we were to chop that in. Quite like the idea of a fast(ish) estate.

49 years old.

Airport car (Travel to Ireland weekly for work) 2018 Citroen C3.
Very comfortable. Cheap to run. Can be fun. A lot of toys for such a small car.

Family car. 2018 Volvo V90 Cross Country Pro D5. Every toy in the world. Huge thing. Very comfortable. Reliable so far.

Work. Mercedes Vito 109 2016 van. Not used as a van but as a daily for commuting. Not very reliable and would not have another.

Weekend. 2009 V8 R8. Not very comfortable but very fun. Reliable so far. Not easy to get out of but I love it.

I was looking at McLarens but the reliability put me off as all my car lives on my driveway.

39. Tatty old modified 2007 VW Caddy and a boggo 2010 Volvo C30 Rdesign thats mainly the wifes. Heart lies with older hot hatches but mortgage/MTB/boring sensible stuff get in the way of a 'fun' 2nd car. Looking to upgrade to a newer mk4 Caddy Maxi for work next year once the market calms down (if it ever will!)

45 years old.

As I work from home I don't really have daily drivers, but I have had a couple of changes in the last couple of years.

Had a 190e for about 5 years (89, 2.0 auto). Fancied a change, but wished I had room to keep it:

Then a 2006 1 owner Touareg which was also a great car. Planned to do big trips in it, but the C put dampeners to that:

Currently have a 2006 MK2 TT V6 DSG, which is a great car and the engine is glorious. I seem to have a penchant for Germans.

The Mrs has a 2010 Hyundai i10 which she's had from new and it's been brilliant. Could be a bit more refined, but impeccable reliability, handles well and can swallow a chest of drawers if required (the i10 not the Mrs). Picture not her one but you get the idea:

It's very hard to replace a Lotus if not impossible. There's not really any other proper car (proper doors, roof, boot) like that gives you the connection to the road and track like one can give you. I've just sold a couple of cars and ordered a FE Elise as I missed my 250 Cup so much. Exige looks epic in that colour combo.

I completely agree and know where you are coming from, enjoy the Elise!. I have had a VX220T and 111R in the past. I got my GT4 it was a nice car but I was always a bit meh and I was always thinking about selling it.
My mate took me around castle Combe in his Elise and I thought why am I messing about with the Porsche get a fun car again!
I was going to get another Elise but the Exige is a bit of a change. Only done 700 miles so far but looking forward to next year!
