The Mrs has a 2010 Hyundai i10 which she's had from new and it's been brilliant. Could be a bit more refined, but impeccable reliability, handles well and can swallow a chest of drawers if required (the i10 not the Mrs). Picture not her one but you get the idea:
I am seriously considering one of these as a first car for eldest daughter when she starts driving next year. Not a bad looking little thing in the right colour, and should be buttons to run and look after.

My grandmother had one of these from new, I drove it a fair bit over the years. The car had one issue that ruined the car for me. The clutch had absolutely no feel to it whatsoever. Absolute lottery trying to find the biting point. Never driven a car with a clutch like it.

I’m 38, drive a 2020 Cayman GTS 4.0 and my fiancé has a 2008 Audi A3, which she’s had since new. It’s due for replacement though and we’re currently deciding between a Polestar 2 and, erm, an ML63 AMG (I appreciate these are two fairly polarised options!).
