Now I have a 'silly' numberplate, but maybe I'm missing something here, where you say "legitimate numberplate format", you mean other than the two D's (DD) that have been changed to O's (OO) to make TOO rather than TDD??
Not quite right, but you are correct about illegal spacing, the number plate is actuallyTO05 LOW

Isn't it TOO 510W - which makes it legally spaced.
I've tried with a few variations and cant seem to make a reg out of it that my look up will acceptTOO (O being letters not zero) and then 510 W
Perfectly legitimate spacing - three letters, space, three numbers then reg suffix.

My thoughts exactly. I wouldn't drive around with rally style name transfers on my rear windows so why would I want everyone wanting to know I've called KEV or BEV or SAM?
This sort of plate makes more sense to me. Just quirky rather than vain - it also hides the age of the car which some people may want to do.
Well, it lets people know that it was built after 1980 This sort of plate makes more sense to me. Just quirky rather than vain - it also hides the age of the car which some people may want to do.

It means 'I am considerably richer than you, and if you hadn't noticed that I was driving a Ferrari, then you get a second chance to see how amazing I am by reading my number plate....look at me....LOOK AT ME!!!'
Ha, funny. I drive a Ferrari and have a personalised plate on it. I personally don't care if someone gives me a second look. I have the car and the plate to please me, nobody else. If others like it then good, if not, then I'm really not bothered. And, I'm really not amazing, lucky, fortunate, hard working, yes, but far from amazing.marksx said:
Number plates, cars parked at slightly jaunty angles, modifications. This forum is full of odd people who get irrationality angry at the insignificant.
Haha very true.I have a personal number plate. its K3 WSJ, it was a 21st birthday present from my mum and given I'm a car enthusiast I think its a bloody good present (I've now had it for 10 years).
Couldn't give a flying fruit-bat what anyone else thinks to be honest.

Baffles me how upset some people can get over number plates

Reminds me of a lovely new TVR years ago that was sporting UR02 SLO. That seems to make more sense.

But then I’m not a mardy tw*t

Incorrect, I thought that at first too but then I read the article and saw it was correctly spaced and not one that's just been butchered so fair play to the owner.Obviously it would have been a different story IF the plate had actually been T005 LOW and then illegally mispaced like many other desperate wannabees, however.
The less said about the meaningless drivel of a plate on a certain Lamborghini referred to earlier, the better.
