RE: 30th Anniversary Mazda MX-5 launched

Cheers. Is it any more stiff?
Sensible answer: No. according to Mazda they make the RF a little softer sprung, because they assume that RF buyers will be a little less hard core than roadster drivers. Still very good though.
I got around this by having Mazda's aftermarket suspension lowering kit fitted, which lowers the car by around 30mm, and stiffens things up nicely. This doesn’t affect the warranty, and it now handles like it should, with much less body roll, but without being jarring.
Not sure if you can specify this if you order, rather than buying from existing stock.

+1. I'd just have to have the wheels silvered though
I know dark wheels are out, but thin spoked with a nice brembo behind are excused... And you don't need to clean as often like silvers. If you don't ever clean them, they will turn a nice satin shade slightly lighter Was at my local (and always very helpful) Mazda dealer earlier today. He downloaded off the spec sheet they have been given which states that the 30th Anniversary car is based on the Sport Nav + model. Plenty of spec unique to the 30th Anniversary and most of it in orange!
But no mention of Bilsteins or strut brace and no rear view camera but has LSD and adaptive front LED headlamps (the latter which I thought were not on the Sport Nav + model).
Anyway a bit confusing, even for the dealer. Also there is a *1 note at the bottom of the spec sheet which says "specification list not exhaustive" so I guess will have to wait to see EXACTLY what the spec is and whether there are very slight differences between different countries/markets.
Dealer says order books were open from 9am this morning (8th February 2019) and deliveries expected/planned from June 2019. They have been allocated a 30th spec model but he is not sure at this stage whether it will be Roadster or RF.
And all I really really want is a Machine Grey GT Nav model WITH the Bl**dy RECAROS! As the normal seats are flat and unsupportive. A deal breaker for me.
Yes I know Orange is a nice bright colour but a bit marmite on the MX-5 me thinks.
It is expensive this 30th Anniversary for a rather small, impractical 2 seater with moderately good performance. I know its a fun car but these Limited Editions do get on my nerves a bit. The US market get "Clubsport" and other tiers of MX-5 with choice spec but we always seem to have to wait for these "Special Edition" versions to get the good stuff in the UK.

Can someone with experience of this car tell me if too-tall people can fit in them?
I am 6'4. Would not want to visit the dealer and leave 20 seconds later because I can't fit in the damn thing.
Probably not - I sat in both versions (exactly 6') and the RF has less legroom than the roadster.I am 6'4. Would not want to visit the dealer and leave 20 seconds later because I can't fit in the damn thing.
I was OK in the roadster but the RF was a bit cramped.
But you never know unless you try.

But as stated elsewhere, I have been quoted delivery in less than three weeks, so how can the final spec still be so variable? But no mention of Bilsteins or strut brace and no rear view camera but has LSD and adaptive front LED headlamps (the latter which I thought were not on the Sport Nav + model).

Going by what the article and others have said, it wouldn’t surprise me if the dealer has just made a simple mistake, and put ‘weeks’ instead of ‘months.’As in:

Bilsteins and strutbrace, too.
That’s interesting and it was what I was expecting on what is a flagship variant but no mention of this on my quite exhaustive spec list from the Mazda dealer which he downloaded from his own Mazda UK HQ website. I thought on one of the original press release photos there was evidence of a rear view camera on the bumper. May that is market/country dependent though as definitely not on the spec list either.
Hopefully actual definite spec will be confirmed in the next few days.
