When I’m driving my s5 it’s the diesel Audis I get up my chuff trying to prove a point. Even had one overtake me on the wrong side of the road in a 30 zone after tail gating me for about 5 mins. I never entertain the racing types. Never get any aggro at all when driving my wife’s Suzuki swift.
Many forced to drive a diesel often sales reps.must feel like second class citizens knowing that those who have had some success in life don't have to grovel about in something noisy & smelly where running costs are a factor. Diesels (apart from farmers diesel tractors) are for losers & van drivers. stargazer30 said:
I tend to find it’s the regular Audi drivers (especially sooters) that drive like planks. The S models usually drive better until they get a clear motorway then boot it. Was following a very well behaved S3 just yesterday. Then on the evening out with my son with his L plates on, audi sooter drove on the wrong side of the road and cut past him half way through a right turn. All to get one car length ahead.

I drive an S. I get into it after driving my/any other cars and instantly can't help driving like a cockwomble. Sorry - it made me do it.
Same. I had an s6 v10 for a bit. It's the only properly fast carive ever had. Was constantly burning people away from the lights and booting it when people came up close behind me. Not sorry AlB82 said:
More often or not on the motorway I see performance cars being driven slowly - owners desperately trying to get their MPG back up into the 20s or limping it to the garage to fill up again
This. IME serious performance cars are always being driven sedately probably to save on mpg or because they feel they have nothing to prove and/or maybe they’re scared they’ll end up in a ditch.Conversely, lesser cars can be ragged more easily and the drivers might feel the need to prove themselves.

too many police abound and cameras tbh, lesser cars are most likely run ragged and high into the limiter whereas perfrormance cars are just ticking along at 2/3 k/rpm doing 80mph or so - maybe the owners are not dicks and dont feel the need to go into 3 figures because some 'sooter' or such is having a bad day? Conversely, lesser cars can be ragged more easily and the drivers might feel the need to prove themselves.

What is tragic is those who look at every diesel road car and think the driver is a sales rep, it’s a very daft mentality. And to think, those that actually have free choice then go on to pick some truely awful cars? I’ll stick with my free car thanks, it’ll fund a few toys in the garage not having to worry about irritations like diesel and maintenance.
I loathe my Audi, but it’s neither smelly or noisy.

Well done you have finally admitted to loathing your Audi. I’ll stick with my free car thanks, it’ll fund a few toys in the garage not having to worry about irritations like diesel and maintenance.
I loathe my Audi, but it’s neither smelly or noisy.
Do you drive yours in anger?
As a sales rep it is not a 'free' car but part of your 'package' btw.
Surprised you didn't realise this.

Ah yonex, finally explains all your passive aggressive cycling based posts. My sympathies... I’ll stick with my free car thanks, it’ll fund a few toys in the garage not having to worry about irritations like diesel and maintenance.

These S Audis are rubbish and slow.

Some of the comments in this thread and others like it (regardless of marque) are in some cases very infantile! "All Audi drivers are cocks"
Those that make sweeping generalisations clearly lack the ability think about what they're saying because it's absolute tosh. If I have to explain that...

Well, that would make you wrong, on all counts. I'm surprised you haven't read the thread on the Audi, it's quite awful and luckily I don't own it. Nice to see I got a promotion as well, looks like it's going to be a good day.Do you drive yours in anger?

people perceptions are based on their own experiences. They can only go off the sample size they have, anything else would be an assumption.
Still if we want to go for generalizations, well i think there's certainly value in them. As an example, most Honda Jazz's are driven slowly and by older people for example. I doubt that's far from the truth.
