It’s not really irrelevant, it shows what sort of car interests you have, it’s a motoring forum after all?
I drive a Lexus GS250 - nice V6 petrol RWD saloon. yonex said:
As for value. Something is worth what someone will pay. It’s a lot of money but it doesn’t mean it’s not worth it (to someone). As for ‘old’ would you dismiss an F40, Bentley blower as poor value for being ‘old’
Makes no sense whatsoever, and with pretty much every new car being less interesting than the models they replace the smart money is looking backwards.
A little yes - I'd sooner buy the later 488 or new Conti GT. I like to buy cars that are under half a decade old and run them until they start to give trouble. I don't have time for stuff that doesn't work. I want to go in my car and drive rather than hear odd noises due to stuff breaking on it and constant "jobs that need doing". Makes no sense whatsoever, and with pretty much every new car being less interesting than the models they replace the smart money is looking backwards.

And here's a random review saying what a POS it is:

I never said it was a POS but it's not £300k good. Listen if it was going for £30k I would be heaping praise on it, but for £300k you can have a newer, more exciting and interesting car than a 911. https://www.evo.co.uk/porsche/911-gt3/7017/porsche...

You could get a new 488 Pista for less or a damned new McLaren 570s for half the price. I know that I'd rather have I, and many others would take the old banger thanks.

Aren't I allowed to have an opinion and express it. You'd take the Old Porsche. I wouldn't. I'd say it's a good buy a 1/6th of the price though. It's not that I don't like the car - it's that I really don't agree with the price tag. I, and many others would take the old banger thanks.

Unless you're prepared to buy it at the price you like and nobody is willing to pay any more than you, your opinion on the price is moot. I'd like a 7 bedroom house in the woods near me, but some other silly sods are willing to pay about £1.6m more than I am for them. Can't believe they're so overpriced!

Actually, you know what, I know bugger all about property but maybe I should go on a property forum and tell everyone how overpriced those central London flats are and how they are schmucks for buying them. Only worth a tenth of the money I tell ya. What a good idea and a great use of my time...

Nothing wrong with an opinion, but you give the impression that you just don’t understand why cars have value at all. Why would anyone pay 15 mill for an old mclaren when a 300k 720s will destroy it in every single way? Because they don’t make cars like that anymore.
About from the same era, a Ferrari 599 GTO costs/ is worth much more than a 812 despite down 130hp, slower in every aspect. So? Where’s your opinion on that?

I'd rather have the 812 for sure. It's an amazing car. The F12 is nice too and would pay more to have an F12 than a 599 but not more to have an F12 than an 812. Actually, I'd rather have an FF over both.
