The fact you can spec a Fiesta ST to around £24k, I'd imagine it'll be pricey. Then saying that, the last RS started at just shy of £30k on release. So smack bang in the middle for a semi-decent spec one?!
I think it’ll be about £31k starting. My wife has got a (fairly high-spec) Focus on order and the list price with options is not far off £30k.

I think an auto estate could well tick all the boxes of "If you could only own one car.....".
Whereas for me being an auto firmly crosses it off my list, it's why the 5-series, A6/S6 and current Mondeo are all excluded from my "next car" list.

I want to see both manual and auto options so that buyers can make their personal choice. I'm hopeful that with WLTP having removed some of the artificial advantage that auto's gave during the NEDC test that we'll see more choice in such things again.

Does anyone else think it just looks too....ordinary?

I know the ST are generally quite subtle-ish but....hmm.

And the front end - i still can't get on with it.

Nice from the side though.

Have Ford fixed the problems with the 2.3 engine?

Wasn't that just a one off miss-assembly issue?

The softening of the 'aston-esque' grill has made it look too safe now and by that I mean far too generic. Take away the blue oval and fit alot of other badges and it could be anything tbh. I don't see alot of brand identity in it, which I'm sure others will not care a bit about. I do however lament the styling. Seats look great, however can someone tell me if they are recaros? The pictures aren't clear....

Yep, I agree it looks very derivative. It looks like a cross between the facelift A Class and the Korean cars.

They should have made the press photos a lairy colour as well; befitting of the fast Ford reputation.

I've never owned a Ford, but have to say that they've really nailed the looks of the newer Fiesta, Focus and Mondeo. I think they look better than most of the competition, ze Germans included. I could be tempted if there's a hot estate version with a towbar option.

It won't start at over 30k. Autocar are suggesting 28.

I've just bought a st3 in stealth grey on an 18plate with just over 8000miles ,with the intention of keeping it for maybe a year and then getting one of these, looks wise I agree it looks a little too safe and not quite sporty enough but let's see what the reviews say, as on paper it should be very good.

Colours wise I'm not sure the orange will work on the new shape and the blue is available on most other ford models, surprised they have ditched stealth grey?

Rumours were the estate were only available with diesel engines ?

Couldn't help thinking what drug agencies have to say about a car that comes with eLSD.

Sorry folks, just couldn't resist.

It looks like an ST model of a C-Max. Quite 'stilted'

I've not had an ST since the 5-cylinder Volvo engined (based) cars. I'd be interested how the 2.3 4-pot compares. (The old 5 cylinder was a peach.)

I look forward to seeing one in Orange Fury. I've seen it on a Mustang and I think it's fantastic.

Looks a bit plain and boring, seems to have gone back to the mk1 ST170 looking very drab. Even the interior is a bit boring like VW.

I don't like the grille Ford used for the past few years, looks better on the bigger models but looks terrible on the smaller cars imo

Have they given any indication of the prices? Will there be varients similar to the fiesta at?
So far the only negative is ford are perservereing with that God awful "performance blue"
You on crack!!! the performance blue is the best colour, the outgoing mk3 Focus ST had a different blue shade, glad to see they have returned back to performance blue of the mk2.

The Mk2 Performance Blue (nice) is very different to the Mk4 Performance Blue (ballbags).
