Will the estate have the exhaust in a place that allows you to fit a tow bar? seriously, centre exhaust on an estate, who's stupid idea was that?
Who the hell fits a tow bar in this day an age. Buy a 4x4 SUV if you want to fit a tow bar. You would hardly ever find a fast estate fitted with a tow bar. dream on dude.

I like this. For once, Ford haven't put the most horrendous wheels on it.

Only problem for me with the fiesta and focus is that they try and make the base-models look so sporty, the ST's don't stand out. I know there's stealth and subtlety, but it's more of a case of "when everything looks sporty, nothing does."
That has been happening years now. Remember the days all other lesser spec came with standard plastic bumpers, steel wheels, no fog lights, standard interior seats, drum brakes etc.

Oh and also this.

It was infantile and killed my average mpg but on every roundabout I was giggling at all the econoboxes moving to the outside lane to overtake...and then leaving them for dead (up to 60 obviously).

I don't want a 4x4 SUV.

Not sold on the colour in those press shots, but otherwise I really like that. I was thinking of getting a Mk3 ST in tangerine scream later this year, but think I'll hold off a bit longer and see how this is received, it's probably at the top of my list now.

You can get a towbar for the RS6.

(Obviously not mine as I both don't have an RS6 and I'd never own a caravan)

Not everyone wants to put up with the disadvantages of an SUV for the 10% of the time that they want a tow bar.

I think that looks great personally, its an ST not the full on RS so of course its a bit more subtle.

280 bhp is a good output, can see how the not full house models are creeping up power wise.

And not sure why everyone expects Fords to be cheaper than say a VW, I dont think any of the German stuff is really any better.

Speaking of which. Why isn't there a Korean car section on the forums? You would thing by now the people who run this site would have added one.......

The estate sounds appealing.

I'll be interested to see what the prices are like.

And are the 19" wheels on the pictures or have they stuck with the standard 18"s.

I think it’ll be about £31k starting. My wife has got a (fairly high-spec) Focus on order and the list price with options is not far off £30k.
It won't start at over 30k. Autocar are suggesting 28.
If Ford continue their previous strategy the 'ST-1' will provide a headline low list price, but no-one will buy it because it is so poorly equipped. Most opt for the mid range ST-2 or top spec ST-3, which cost more. However, I also expect that discounts will be the norm!

I like that. We just need an ST Mondeo now with the turbo V6 they put in American stuff.
Completely agree, if Ford made a Mondeo ST in estate form I'd be straight to the dealership to order one. The Focus isn't big enough for me anymore, even in estate guise. I've had every generation of performance Focus upto now but I've had to leave Ford behind for other marques as they don't sell what I want now.

I like the look of that, an auto estate with some mountune bits would be great, although its going to be some time before they fall to 18k. If they are going to start around 28k then i'd go with a 5.0 Mustang and a £500 Mondeo estate.
