Looks alright that, but a shame about that colour, one of the blandest Ford have ever created! I do like the new Focus in general, but at the same time it does look more generic than older models... could be made by anyone.

Oh and also this.

It was infantile and killed my average mpg but on every roundabout I was giggling at all the econoboxes moving to the outside lane to overtake...and then leaving them for dead (up to 60 obviously).

I don't want a 4x4 SUV.

Any mention of MPG? For all the anti-VW huffing ’n’ puffing citing the last ST’s power output and its cost vs. the Mk7 GTI’s, in reality the latter dyno’d at c. 240bhp and all car mags’ long-term tests reported decent MPG for the GTI while the ST liked a drink.

Given the higher displacement and higher power output it's pretty much guaranteed to be lower in real world driving. I'm going to say it'll hover around 25 mpg given that the outgoing 2 litre model averages around 27-30 mpg for most owners. No doubt the reviews will quote the urban figures as 48 mpg and extra urban as 69 mpg or something equally ridiculous though. rolleyes

Another colour dissenter here.
I hate wishy-washy colours and that's more wishy-washy than an Aladdin pantomime.
Let's have some oranges and yellows and greens and stop worrying about it being not German looking or restrained/grown-up enough.

I had a black Fiesta ST Mk 7 and now a blue one. I'm no fan of the new Fiesta ST's looks so probably will never buy one but, regardess, the dull colours kill it, stone dead.

I've just bought a st3 in stealth grey on an 18plate with just over 8000miles ,with the intention of keeping it for maybe a year and then getting one of these, looks wise I agree it looks a little too safe and not quite sporty enough but let's see what the reviews say, as on paper it should be very good.

Colours wise I'm not sure the orange will work on the new shape and the blue is available on most other ford models, surprised they have ditched stealth grey?

Rumours were the estate were only available with diesel engines ?
I do hope you're wrong about the estate.
Me too. This article: https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/new-fo... says "The ST estate will also make a return not long after the regular Mk4 estate is launched. That car will be diesel-only, according to a Ford insider, on account of the heavily diesel-biased sales mix of the last load-lugging ST"

Maybe (hopefully) they've changed their mind now that diesel sales in general are flagging!

In the flesh it appears to be more orange. Unless it was just my car being covered in sh*t at the time. Either is possible.

Terrible news! Everyone that bought a coal powered ST should be shot dead imo. The power output on this and the mk3.5 was pathetic and not even worthy of wearing an ST badge.

Really interested to see this, I currently drive a 2017 ST3 in Tangerine Scream.

One thing I'd definitely consider next time though is a factory Mountune pack, should that be offered, to hopefully bring it up to the magic 300bhp.

Other options for me will be the Megane RS and Hyundai i30N. I'm not really interested in 4wd and mega, mega power.

I think the colour in these photos is awful though

Competitive with the Golf GTD, and 40+ mpg that the petrol ones won’t do - the petrol ST was seriously thirsty.

Even the wheel design.
Thought exactly the same when I saw that picture too so there obviously is a decent resemblance to it.

Think the new focus is a fantastic looking thing and the performance of this is pretty swift! Hot hatches increasingly making my 911 look a bit pointless.

I didn't notice it particularly at first glance but what the heck is that huge ugly bulge stuck to the bottom half of the doors? It looks terrible.
