The Joy of Running an Old Shed

If carlsberg made shed adverts...

I just love the sheer honesty, zero f**ks given to wash it before photos and it's main highlight "long MOT".
This dealer knows the language of it'scustomers shedders.

Anyone bought a lumbar support for their car before? My mk2 Focus has been giving me all sorts of jip recently
My Mk2 Focus is a Titanium and has really good seats. That said, I have lower back problems which makes any sitting problematic.
Get a small towel and roll it up (like you used to roll up your Speedos for school swimming lessons) and hold it in a roll with duct tape.
Stuff it behind your lower back and away you go.

Eurocarparts have a cheapo seven quid lumbar support thing I might get (cheaper than using my swimming trunks which I have to get specially made to fit )
My mk5 golf TDI i got cheaply is starting to have some wobbles.
I have a wheel bearing gone in the rear, makes a very loud humming noise from 50mph and higher along with traction control light & ABS light always on (think it's connected with the wheel bearing issue).
Also my wipers this morning decided not to work, but only when i was stopped (with engine running), when i was driving they worked (minus washer jets) and then got to work, parked and they didn't work again. Must be a dodgy fuse or something.
All minor things and easily fixed but annoying none the less. 9 months of error free so can't complain.

After some advice to repair my shed, got an 05 focus 1.6 petrol which has been virtually faultless for 2 years but today developed a misfire p0304 cylinder number 4.
Managed to crawl home, luckily it would still run ok under light load, although the hilly motorway sections were a bit touch and go.
Found a lot of rusty water around the spark plugs when I removed the caps, removed the cam cover and it was obvious that there's been water leaking for a good while.
Now the bad bit, both coolant core plugs (Welsh plugs?) Have obviously been bodged before I bought the car to try and seal them, one is covered in an epoxy putty and the other one has red silicone sealant over it.
I've cleaned it out as best I could and run it again but still misfiring on cylinder number 4, I'm hoping that will clear when it dries fully or is it possible it could have damaged the coil pack?
Can anybody point me to the correct size Welsh plugs for my car, I can't measure the existing ones without removing this sealant which I didn't want to do before I made the repair.
Also is it simply a case of prizing out the old one and knocking in the new plug, just watched a video on YouTube and it looked fairly easy, famous last words.
Just hoping a previous owner or mechanic was just very lazy and decided to try and seal them unless there's a reason why they couldn't fit new plugs.

I got a ‘real essential inflatable lumbar support with pump’ to put in my 130i. I found the seats comfortable but knew I’d need it on longer drives.Took the back of the seat off, wrapped the bladder in an old teatowel with the hems cut off to stop the seat back support wires damaging it and then fed the hose and pump under the seat, held in place with cable ties. It needs a quick top up with a squeeze of air once every couple of months but otherwise is a great addition.
Bought this old girl for £1250.
2006 330i SE auto. 109K miles. Running as sweet as a nut.
Will need front discs and pads for MOT and i'm making a few minor (non shedding type) enhancements but seemed a cheap car.
Dakota Lemon leather..
Auto wipers stop working after five minutes, and stop the wipers working. Pulling over and knocking the car off and on again reset them. Wont be using auto wiper button again again
Drivers door doesnt lock on the central locking.
Other than that all good so far.

Bargain. Looks like much more than shed money and I'm sure it's a great drive too.2006 330i SE auto. 109K miles. Running as sweet as a nut.
