diesel or petrol?
Missed the key bit out! Petrol please, only do 8k a year. I’ve yet to own a diesel and I intend to keep it that way
Octavia vRS? The oldest ones are not far off shed territory now.
You’ll hate me for this but I missed the really key bit out. I’m lazy so I’d prefer an automatic. If it wasn’t for the practicality of an estate I’d be looking at LS430s again

Contemplated selling it! Got seduced with shiny shiny.

Cant do it. Costs pennies to run. Makes sense to keep.
I've contemplated selling my Alfa 147 shed. I don't really need the car as I have two others. I hardly use it and then I had to do a 100 mile round trip yesterday so used it and remembered why i bought it in the first place so it's going nowhere. biggrin

Ta da!!

Excellent buy! Anything 'wrong' with it?
It's got a little scuff on the rear bumper and a chip on the windscreen but nothing apart from that.

The original owner had it garaged for 22 years and the paintwork shows it, it's very clean.
Mega bargain! Same price as decent phone, or less than the other chaps VED on his Saab.

They’ve been well in the shed price bracket for ages!

Does anyone shed a jap estate? Reason is all of my vag owning mates are forever fixing their vags.. May well be because their shed budget is sub £500 but still..

Current short list is Honda Accord(?) estate shed or Subaru Legacy estate shed (because AWD and low range box!!), avoiding the 2.5 'chocolate' engined ones of course.

I love my Accord, although it's slightly been overshadowed this week by my new purchase, it still just carried on going (197k on the original clutch and people seem to think it's a weak point!!)

Very wise...it looks greatthumbup
Agree, that looks like the perfect shed to me. Still looks modern, doesn't scream shed and most people would assume it was worth far more than it is.

I would argue that this age A4 with the 130 PD engine is getting on for the ultimate shed.

I bought an MG ZR brand new in 2005 (on 05 plate) and it has now done 200,000+ miles.
It has rarely missed a beat but has collected dents and dinks on every panel including the roof!
I live in Central London which might account for dodgem mode - I refer to my trusty steed as 'The London Battlewagon'.
PS I also have a TVR Tuscan for best!

I live in Spain - pretty much the whole population runs on this basis. Very few are prissy about the state of their cars - bumps and bashes are the norm. The cars seems to be a simple replacement for the donkey to many :-)

I watched an old local bump park a brand new BMW 7 series - could have only been days old and probably cost over €100,000. He got into a parking space in Marbella centre which was about 6 inches shorter than the car he was driving. Front and back - bounce bounce bounce - I'm in!

At times I wonder who is right and who is wrong when I stress about my cars getting damaged when left parked!

Nice work! I’ve always had a soft spot for them. Which engine?

Funny one recently.

Car had been parked out in the hot sun for a few days here in Munich.

When I got to my destination I realised something was missing.

Fortunately, I remembered seeing the front number plate looked like someone has stuck it onto an old number plate. Sure enough, that was the case. So pulled it off.

Front number plate on the rear to get me away. Luckily once I got back to where the car had been parked for a few days I found the old number plate on the floor.

It's been 3 days now and I still can't be arsed to stick them on right, so I'm just driving around with gaffa tape.

If anyone else wants to get into LS430 ownership for £1k this has just popped up for sale in Tonbridge

Looks ropey around the edges but then so did mine in the advert. Lambda sensor could be the same reason as mine, blow on the flange for the cats.

I love the wafty nature of mine and they seem to be pretty solid cars.

That looks like it could be fun.

Might be one of those temporary permanent fixes. On a number of occasions I have done a quick 5 minute temporary fix thinking I will get round to a proper fix and realise 3 years later the temporary bodge is still working. laugh

Had brand new Golf Gti in gleaming black for two days, parked in Sainsburys for 10 mins and came out to front all bashed in! Devastated?? Now have 14 year old Subaru Legacy for last 18 months, solid as a rock, sails through MOT’s, has all the toys plus a few dents & towing bar that’s crippled a few queue tailgaters?? All for £2800. Great boxer engine. 4 wheel drive. Love it. ??

Hi Jimmy
Its the top of the range 1800, perfect motor for all roads - nippy as hell in town and sticks like glue on twisty country roads - If it ever expires I may have to get another one!
Here it is in its younger days - its a looker too!

My Audi A6 2.5 TDI Quattro shed is still going.. Took it for a 100+ mile trip yesterday, I still find it surprisingly comfortable and refined at speed, even though it's on crappy winter tyres. It does have a lot of issues, but I've gotten weirdly fond of it. I keep the interior tidy, but the outside is never washed (washed it once soon after I bought it in October 2018, then found it looked worse clean, so I've not washed it since).

I'll probably be selling it soon, but then again I've been saying that for the past year. It just carries on.
