I would say so, you couldn’t class them as ‘non essential’

With any luck, I’ll be experiencing the Joy or Shed tomorrow with a £600 Impreza Wagon. Non turbo, short MOT, 128k. My son has already got his eyes on a couple of parts for his own Impreza.
Hopefully it’s as solid as it looks in the photos, needs a good clean and then will be put into action as the tip/diy store/sh!t carrier.

If not, and it fails the MOT badly, I may have to break it - not told the wife that bit
Shed purchased. First stop was the petrol station as usual. Pictured with my son’s Impreza which he’s already eyeing up bits to swap to his car. Made it home fine. Every panel has a dink or scratch, interior needs a good clean, but did come with a set of coilovers and a janspeed stainless steel exhaust in the boot.

And they never had to close in the stricter lockdown we had from March

I agree, short MOT you said? Hopefully not a rusty car underneath. But I guess you'd easily recoup your money in parts with a little time and effort.

In fact it looks bloody good

Mot until the beginning of jan. most panels have dinks on, photo flatters it, but drives well and stops so that’s a result!

Any issues to consider for these engines? so tempting to chuck it in for boring daily duties, if its reliable hehe
The 2.0 is one of the best engines they ever made.

My local mechanic was closed during the first lockdown, I imagine it will be the same this time.

Just a case of if they will extend the MOT grace period like they did during the first lockdown

This is a good question, maybe one for the Covid threads. But there could be another extension? As I understand it, cars which were due in May for MoT were extended to November and are definitely due now.

I’ll find the right thread for the question. My MOT was originally due on 11/07/19 but was then extended to 12/01/21

Asked on another thread and people seem to think garages will remain open.

Sent a text to the bloke who runs my usual MOT garage, they are staying open it seems. Sorted, might as well get it driven and tested as it’s been parked up for a few weeks

A friend is an mot tester, they've not been told as yet to close but if he is I'll post up.

Serviced the wife's vvti Corrolla yesterday with an ECP package discount oil n filter, less than 25 quid all up. Got to love ECP weekend specials.

1.9tdi auto now sporting some proper wheels (from a Merc) with Winter rubber. The alloys will never go back on, because.......well, black steel wheels!

Picked up this beige beauty for £800. Nothing less than the full “Privilege” spec with 64k miles, 12 months MOT and FSH

That's horrid

A brilliant shed then. Well, depends what spec. Does it share bits with the Grand Scenics that are clocks and turbos?

It's smaller than a Scenic, more likely to share bits with the Clio or Twingo.
