My replacement coil pack for my mk2 Focus shed should be here today or tomorrow. I'm hoping it fixes it, and that the symptoms is not the dreaded windscreen washer water dripping into the plug.

Replace the plugs at the same time. It will most likely be water pooling / getting in. Take some time and give it a good clean out with something suitable.

Head to your local volvo dealer and order PART NUMBERS -

COVER - 30650468

SIX POINT SOCKET SCREW - 986019 x4

Volvo engine cover fits perfectly and stops any more water getting in....

Edit to add - going direct to volvo was cheaper than Ebay

Love me some bangernomics, had a 2001E39 530d Tourer that was specced to the hilt with every extra available at the time in manual flavour, bought it for £600 with 170K based in an advert of someone who clearly didnt realise what they where selling. It only ever needed a wheel bearing and a suspension airbag which my mechanic punctured while replacing the wheel bearing and some sills welding....i then went on to put another fantastic quality filled 50k miles on her without missing a beat...proper quality that car was from the thud of the doors, to the cocoon of silence as you covered the big miles bikes, dog, kids, skip runs what a shed!!!! My wife twisted my arm to get rid of one of my cars due to parking constraints and i sold it to my friend for £1400 who is still amazed by the quality of the thing. Now i have an XC90 knocking on 217K running sweet as you like doing all the long haul duties admirably 37mpg all day long

How about this then...

I'm going to hoover out, dust, wash and polish my shed soon. It is time.

Even more how-about-ery... I have winter wheels and tyres for the shed as well, they'll be going on when the clocks go back.

He's a very nice guy, great to deal with. Surprised that they had so many issues with the car as it was in great mechanical shape when it went on the ship. Hopefully I'll be at H20i next year to drive it again. It was a fun story to be a part of

I think winter wheels are allowed according the shed handbook, aren’t they? Extra points if they’re steelies.

Would it be too far of a generalisation to assume most posters/followers of this thread are subscribers of hubnut's youtube channel?

Yep, for about 4 or 5 years now (I love an old Citroen, that's how I came across him)

yes

Mine are steelies, 15" ers with 195x65 rubber as well. It is like fitting comfy slippers to your car.

My leased Cupra was stolen 2 weeks ago (see another thread).

I spent last week without a car, relying on lifts to the station. Which was a faff as I live in a small village 4 miles from the station (which is the other side of a big hill). What a pain in the arse!

However, a phone call followed by a 5 minute(!) agreement via WhatsApp, I bought a 2007 Peugeot 307 for £1500. FSH, leather, regassed aircon, belts recently changed. 50k miles.

Hopefully that counts as a shed though I must say, other than being a car of its time (5CD slots in the dash...), it’s not very shed-like at all..!

Proper shedding: winter tyres on all year round

I found the drop from 17 inches to 16 inches to be very pleasurable...

...To the extent, that I kept the winters on all year (plus the summer rears were borderline and I was too lazy/tight to buy new ones).
