DB4 Zagato. Didn’t realise quite how rare it was when I took the photo.

Have also seen a Carrera GT ‘in the flesh’ (at a hotel in Dorset) and an F40 driving through Harrogate one Boxing Day (there was snow on the ground, although the roads were just wet). Saw an Enzo in the centre of London once.

Oh and saw a parked up Miura about 30 years ago - no idea whether genuine as was parked outside a very average house.

Some from over the years...

Aston Martin DB AR 1, one of 99, built for the US Market.

Clive Beecham's Alfa Romeo Disco Volante - From what he told me personally, the idea of the Disco Volante was his and he had car #1 before selling it last year. One of 7 Built.

Bentley Continental GTZ - One of 9 built.

McLaren F1 GTR - #05R - Same owner as McLaren F1 #69

Bugatti Veyron L'or Blanc - One of One.

Too good not to edit.
Thank you!

The chap in the people carrier asked why I was taking a pic of an old car, tried to explain and he said, “so you think it’s worth a lot? Like 15k? it’s old innit”

I then prayed they didn’t open doors into it as they loaded their kids into their car
Welcome! ??

I saw this today, it fooled me at first but upon looking closer, it's actually a Z3 in a party frock. It was beautifully done.

Had a quick look at it today, nicely done I thought for what it is, assuming the proportions / wheelbase etc are as per the real McCoy...

Rarest I've seen, I think, was a CLK DTM convertible, 1 of 6 rhd cars.
Drove it a few times too, what a monster.

XJ220

Last year when I was on the M3 and it was gliding up a junction exit whilst I was driving past it. I felt quite emotional seeing it and it made my day. First time I have ever seen one in the flesh. The shape was very familiar and just as gorgeous as the one that adorned my bedroom wall as a kid 😁

FYI none of your photos are showing; I suspect you need to set permissions on your photo storage service to "public".

Followed this today, looked good on the road. I put the reg into the mot history checker to see if it was a real one but no, it's some kind of VW Kit car.

Not sure if it's a good replica or not as I don't know much about supercars!

Jensen S-V8 in Marks Tey -- only 30 built I believe.

AC Brooklands Ace (at Brooklands) -- 46 built

Also seen a Noble M10 at the M11/A120 junction many years back -- only 6 made.

Off topic, but you have to celebrate living i a world where a rich person says.
“You know what the car world needs? It needs an awkward looking Bentley continental replica, based on an Audi but with Rover 75 headlights and VW Passat CC grille.”
And then he goes and actually puts his real money where his mouth is and has it built.

(Disclaimer: I am assuming this has to be some sort of vanity project akin to self publishing)

He built it 'cos he couldn't afford a Seven. The only bit he managed to get was the nose - the rest he formulated himself. He understood Chapman's genius - which was the reason he sold everything to catch a boat to the UK! smile

Ogle Aston Martin V8 on a neighbour's drive in the early '80s. It was a dark red and looked amazing. Not sure how many were built.
It was thought that 2 were made. It was supposed to be a one off but a very rich lady saw it and they made one for her. However, a little while ago another was found in France - I think it is being restored now.
We had the Ogle on the Aston Martin owners club stand about 5 years ago. The present owner said as he was unable to lend us The Bulldog as was being worked on would The Ogle be any good. It was fantastic to have it on the stand. Brilliant back lights which worked faster as the car went faster.

F40 in Val d’isere , last week of the skiing season about 1990.

Pulled up at the patisserie, bought some bread , threw it on the passenger seat and drove off , had a nice covering of road salt / winter crud on it as well.

No phone cameras back in those days.

Astonishing thing. In equal measures gloriously insane and insanely glorious laugh

For speed-sensitive rear lights see also "Mazda RX500", with rear lights that also indicated how hard it was braking. Also #1 of 1
