I really like this one-off TR6 shooting brake seen in Malvern a few years ago.

How about a William Towns designed Hustler?

A futuristic six wheeled kit car based on a Mini which I saw a couple of years ago. Not sure how many were made or how many are left but it must have looked quite startling in the late 70s.

A Mercedes-Benz W154 being started in the pits at Donington Park in 1999. Then seeing John Surtees climb into it and drive it round the circuit. Afterwards I got him to sign my programme. He was a true gent. The noise and smell of this incredible machine in an enclosed space was visceral.
A Singer Porsche in a Tesco car park in Dorset. The details were incredible. At first I didn't believe it was genuine, but when I looked on the Singer website I discovered that the same car is called Dorset.

I saw one of these in Orlando last year, had to ask the office car guru what it was.

Fisker Karma
There was one of these at a small independent dealer I visited near Chester last year (I went to look at an XF). The chap was amazed that I knew what it was.

Sticks.

Very interesting. This came up some years back. I remember it as I'd not heard of a TR4 Dove/GTR4A before then.

And here's a shot of a Fisker Karma I took on Sunday in the Brooklands Museum car park!

I remember that petrol station. You have to ring a bell for the guy to open up. Its down a short slope with the road behind the wooden hut. Bet they still haven't got any NC500 stickers biggrinbiggrin

This exact car parked outside a gallery in Circular Quay in Sydney- it was waiting to be loaded onto a trailer. I got talking to one of the workers and he let me walk into the partly dismantled exhibition and wander around.

On the road I saw an F40 in a car park in Buxton In the mid 90's and was overtaken by a burgundy XJ220 on the way to Le Mans in 2005.

The FREE display of about a dozen BMW Art cars in the city during the London Olympics was excellent...^^^^

That's a lovely looking car and a terrific photo of it. I wonder who snapped it? ☺☺☺

A one-off. What could it be?

I claim more than one, all snapped within the past two years. This is a 1923 Aston Martin, seen at Brooklands Museum in October 2017. -

My third is Nick Mason's 250 GTO, snapped at a showroom in London when I blagged entry to a corporate event that was held there. After a struggle, I managed to cram most of my 6'1" frame into the driving seat - but not all, as you can see, because it was tailored for a jockey-sized driver.

My fourth is not that rare, but was such a lovely example I just had to include it - snapped last summer in Cirencester. It's a '62.

Nissan Nismo 400R (1 of 44)

In the UK the rarest I've seen is probably either an Aston DB5 or a McLaren P1.

I saw this one at the Nurburgring. It was featured a week later in an Evo video -

I didn't get a photo at the time, but have seen a blue Nismo 400R on the road in the UK. A friend had one for a few weeks back in 2002 I think it was. It went back to Japan shortly after. I understand it was offered for sale at the time for around £78k. I think it was brought over here by Kiki who at the time ran Option Motorsport near Silverstone.
