Really like the idea of a BMW 2 Gran Coupe. Would be weird if it turns out to be fwd as suggested in this thread, but I hope that it’s not true as it does not make any sense in relation to the coupe and convertible version of the 2 series.

I don't see the beef.
For Merc its a CLS, for Audi its liftback/fastback...there is clearly a market for a sportier saloon variant of core models. I wouldn't have bought a 5-series, couldn't have managed with a 2-door 6-series, but the 6 GC was perfect.
I'd rather rate the car than the name. Choice is never a bad thing.

Interesting, I hadn't spotted that one. I wonder why they went with that design. The trackrod mount on the strut is a long way away from calipers/shafts etc.
Old Cavaliers used the same layout.

Their naming conventions getting more confusing... thankfully the interiors will look very similar
